Self-Will

‘For although Levi wasn’t born yet, the seed from which he came was in Abraham’s body when Melchizedek collected the tithe from him’ Heb.7:10

Self-will is another thing that you can cooperate with that will attempt to box God in your life. As previously stated, the only one who can box God in your life is you. If you cooperate with self-will, it will limit the influence of God in your lives. The danger of self-will is that it puts you in the driver’s seat instead of God. You might be wondering what exactly is wrong with being in the driver’s seat. The first problem with being in the driver’s seat is that you do not know the way. The second problem with being in the driver’s seat is that you cannot withstand all the attacks on the way. Thirdly, you not only put your life in danger, you put the life of everybody you are carrying in danger. How does that apply? A father who thinks that the act and effects of adultery are limited to him alone is in self-deceit. The truth is that it affects your children and your children’s children. You are carrying a linage of people in your loins. ‘In addition, we might even say that these Levites—the ones who collect the tithe—paid a tithe to Melchizedek when their ancestor Abraham paid a tithe to him. For although Levi wasn’t born yet, the seed from which he came was in Abraham’s body when Melchizedek collected the tithe from him’ Heb.7:9-10. Levi was from generations after, but scripture records that Levi paid tithe because it was in his loins. All eggs or sperm a man/woman will ever produce, they are carrying in their bodies. All the DNA is in the sperm/egg, so everything you do is transmittable to your children. Sin in the father becomes iniquity in the children [Gen.20; Gen.26]. Another danger of you being in the driver’s seat is that when you wreck the car you are putting generations at stake. It’s easy to get upset when your child crashes the car but what about you? It is never too late to hand over to God. When you hand over the driver’s seat to God, guess what happens, God begins to correct things. And everyone in the vehicle becomes safe.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask for the grace to let go of the driver’s seat completely. I invite You in to the driver’s seat of my life today. Lead me Lord and I will follow Your leading, in Jesus Name.
