Place of Worship
‘So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most’ Heb.4:16
Something happened when Jesus shouted His last and gave up His spirit. Something that changed the course of history forever and changed the place of worship forever. The release of the Spirit brought about the tearing of the curtain top to bottom. In other words, through Jesus and by His Spirit you and I can access the place of worship that once laid behind the veil. Jesus granted us access to enter beyond the place where the priests could and into the place where the Ark of God sits. The Ark is a box where God chose to stay for a dispensation. The literal translation of the word Ark is the box of testimony/witnesses. Inside the Ark there are three things – manna representing God’s physical provision; the scroll representing God’s spiritual provision; the rod of Aaron that budded representing God spiritual authority. On the Ark lies the mercy seat with two cherubim on the left and right of it spreading their wings and looking down. In between the cherubim, the Shekinah Glory of God manifests. God choose to remain boxed as it were for a dispensation for several reasons. Jesus had not come and the prize had not been paid, amongst other things. Yet, God wanted a deeper relationship with His people. When Jesus died, the veil that separated the Ark from the people tore irreparably, from top to bottom. What this means is that you and I now have access to God. You do not need to go through a priest, pastor, prophet to get access to God. ‘So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most’. Come boldly – God does not want you to delegate your worship. Jesus died so that you can show up at the throne of God. Do not settle for handed down experiences in the place of worship. Accept God’s invitation and come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. This is a rare privilege you do not want to waste here on earth; and you want to secure for eternity.
Prayer [song]: You are awesome in this place, Mighty God. You are awesome in this place, Abba Father. You are worthy of my praise, To You my heart I raise. You are awesome in this place, Mighty God
