Men’s View vs God’s View II

And they said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen. But don’t let God speak directly to us, or we will die!’ Ex.20:19

Anyone who lives his life by the mandate of man really never lives in fulfillment. Living according to the opinion of man is operating outside the will of God. The opinion of man is always changing and that is why it is dangerous to base our lives on man’s fleeting views. In today’s scriptural reference, the people of

Israel had elected Moses as their intercessor. They gave him the mandate of bringing God’s Word to them. However, not too long after that they challenged this same mandate they had given to him [Num.16:1-3]. If you live your life trying to please people, you will never enter into the greatness God has for you. The only way you can live a fulfilled life is to play to the audience of One. God expects you to be good, loving, compassionate, and generous. Yes, we are only to live our lives by what God says about us. Even Jesus experienced the fickle opinions of men. One minute they praised Him and not up to 24 hours later that they called for His life [Matt.21:9; Mark 15:13]. Even if it is your parents, you cannot afford to allow their opinions dictate the course of your life. We need to get into the presence of God and stay there until we get the strength we need to live according to what God says. Stay in His presence and find out exactly what God is saying about you. You were created by God and His plans towards you are perfect. Hold on to the voice of the Creator and the picture He has put in your heart for your life. Even when it seems like you are not measuring up, your best bet is to stay in His presence. Refuse to take another person’s view of you; refuse to own it. The minute you own it, you become fused with that baggage. God alone knows the plans He has for you. And because of the nature of man, most times their opinion of you will be the direct opposite of God’s view. ‘For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long agoEph.2:10.

Prayer: Father, I pray that as I spend time in Your presence, You will rid me of the opinions of men that I have allowed to influence my view about myself until all I see is You, in Jesus Name.
