Face The Storm II

‘…When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm’ Luke 8:24

Don’t wish your task were easier, wish you were better’ Jim Rohn. Don’t wish that all the financial problems will disappear, instead pray that God would empower you to solve them. Then you will become a stronger person. A lot of people’s reaction to this kind of teaching is usually silence and in some cases withdrawal. The reason is because when people are in the midst of a storm, they expect their pastors to command the storms to be still. Yes some storms will be still but some storms you would have to ride out. Say Amen! The reason is because there is a height God wants to take you to that without that storm you cannot get there. So you have to ride it but guess what you will not die. And at the end of the day the storm will be history but you would have experienced a depth of God that no one can take away from you. When people are jealous of your anointing, they should also be jealous of your storms. Again I say don’t pray that the storms will disappear, ask God to empower you to ride them. Embrace it because without the storms you cannot experience the heights. You see a sister walking in a fresh auction. Thank God for it but don’t be jealous because if you are jealous of it then you can as well ask for the storms that she went through before she got to that level. You don’t want her storms I am sure because you have enough that you are dealing with. Focus and ride your own storms so you can get to the heights that God wants you to get to.

In Luke 8:22-25 did Jesus know they will meet a storm? Maybe but He led them right to it. Maybe just to show them that the fact that you followed God’s leading does not mean you will not encounter storms. Or to teach them that what is most important in our walk is to engage and sustain the presence of God. Or perhaps to teach them that like Him, they too can rebuke the storm to a whisper because He has said greater works shall they do. Do not be afraid to face the storm because it will propel you to the heights that God has for you.

Prayer: Father, I ask that You will empower me to solve the root cause of the storms that I encounter, in Jesus Name.
