High Flyer I

‘He that dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty’ Ps.91:1.

The eagle is a high flyer and it aims very high. Eagles can fly up to an altitude of 10,000 feet, far away from every form of oppression. Back in the day my friends and I in the university fellowship had a special response to the greeting ‘how far’. The response was ‘far above principalities and powers…’ and we will go ahead to quote the entire scripture. The truth is this is really how God wants us to operate as Christians. Far above principalities and powers because we are seated with Christ in heavenly places far above oppression, principalities, and powers. ‘He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow [the covering] of the Almighty’ Ps.91:1. The Almighty does not dwell in the valley.

There was this believer who used to have a lot of issues with the enemy at the fellowship I used to attend back in the day. God in His mercy revealed what was happening to the leader of the fellowship. What God showed him literarily was that this guy would go and torment satan. Then satan would get angry and want to attack but was never successful because the believer had a leash around his waist and a hand pulling him into safety. Then the guy will go back and attack satan and it went on like that. After a while the guy got tired of the leash, unbuckled it and threw it away. Then he went again like before to torment satan. And satan saw the leash was no longer there and dealt with the believer heavily. There are things you should not attempt without flying high. If you do, it would be a suicide mission. In fact I believe that no Christian should face the day without the assurance of the presence of God. And that is the place of consistent fellowship with God because there are arrows that fly by day. You don’t want to use your head to carry what does not belong to you. Yet when you secure His presence, He says ‘a thousand will fall by your side and ten thousand by your right hand and it shall not come near you’.

Prayer: Father, help me dwell daily in Your presence. Hide me Lord in Your secret place; put me under Your wing away from the arrows that fly by day and by night, in Jesus Name.
