High Flyer II

The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged’ Ps.69:32.

The eagle is a high flyer spiritually. As eagle Christians it is important for us to understand that God wants us to think big and aim high. Sometimes we aim too low and cut our coat according to our size because the world says so. Right? Wrong, you cut it according to God’s size because you and God are going to wear that coat anyway. God wants you to think big. For a lot of us the challenge is that we think too small. There is a personal mantra that I have which is ‘I’d rather try huge things for God and be told that it cannot be done. Than not try and be told that it could have been done only if I tried’. I would not be able to live with myself, if there is something that God has put in my heart and I refuse to venture only for me to discover that it could have been done if only I trusted God. In a lot of areas, many of us are cutting God to size and God does not like it. The eagle believer climbs high. You have to resolve to begin to climb high today.

In spite of this climb, the eagle is able to descend very fast. The downward glide of the eagle can be as fast as 120km per hour. Meaning as we think big it is important to remain humble and stay in touch with the reality. Many people think big yet they are just building castles in the sky. They are not in touch with reality. When you want to get married as a young lady the first question you should ask your intending husband is ‘where are you going?’. Meaning what can he see – what is his vision. Don’t marry a guy that cannot see anything. And the second question is ‘what have you done so far’. The first question is a question of how high he wants to climb. While the second question is a question of how real he is in achieving those goals. As a young man you cannot get the dream job, buy a new car, and move into a mansion in your dreams alone. What determines how real you are in achieving those goals is what you have done. Clear-cut reality. The eagle climbs high but is in touch with reality. We have to be in touch with reality.

Prayer: Father, help me position my eyes firmly on You so that I can see the vision You have for me through Your eyes, in Jesus Name
