Irony of the Cross #4

He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him! For he said, ‘I am the Son of God’ Matt.27:43.

The fourth irony of the cross is the man who had been ‘abandoned’ by God trusts God. [Read Matt.27:43-51]. ‘He trusted God, so let God rescue him now if he wants him!’ This statement is filled with sarcasm not towards God but towards Jesus; questioning the trust that Jesus had for God. For everyone that
is going to walk with God, you will get to this point where people will say to you ‘but you say you trust in God how come this is happening. Let God save you’. Yet the good news for you today is that the same way Jesus resurrected, you are going to resurrect. Regardless of how bleak it looks. ‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them allPs.34:19 [KJV]. Therefore even the trouble you are facing right now, God is going to come to your rescue in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Do not loose heart because you are facing troubles. Like Gideon said ‘If God were for us how come all these things are happening to us?’ Guess what, Jesus got to the cross, He died and was buried but even the grave could not hold Him captive. And that is why we can celebrate Easter because Jesus was not defeated. And because Jesus was not defeated, we will not be defeated. The man who has been ‘abandoned’ by God, trusts God. You don’t put your heart and your faith in someone that abandons you right? But Jesus is saying to us by his example that God can NEVER fail. I don’t know what you are going through today that seems like darkness has crept in on you. You are going to come out because light is going to break forth in your life in Jesus Name. No matter how dark it seems your light is going to break forth in the Name of Jesus. Jesus came and experienced all this so that he can have the right to set us free from all that we are going through – primarily from sin. So I declare that every thing that Jesus died for you to have starting with the salvation of your soul, healing of your body, and prosperity of your hands – you will have it all in Jesus Name.

Prayer [hymn]: When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way…’
