Calvary
‘As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died’ Gal.6:14.
As Christians it would be wrong for us to continue to do the wrong things knowing fully well that it is sin in God’s sight. I am not saying that Christians are not able to do wrong. Christians go through different phases of growth until we are in the image of Christ Jesus. But a Christian cannot continue to do wrong. We have the seed of God. In two different situations I have witnessed a pig in mud and another situation where a car splashed mud on a sheep. And as I watched, the sheep had mud on him like the pig but it was very uncomfortable. The sheep rubbed itself on the wall until it got rid of the mud. The pig on the other hand was having the time of its life rolling around in the mud. That is what differentiates a pig from a sheep. I wonder how Christians who continue doing wrong are able to sleep at night because it should be like mud is to the sheep. The Bible says it shows that you are a child of God when you do what is right. Submit to God because as long as you are in control of your life you will never be free. There is a place called the cross, it is the place of total surrender. God’s desire is for us is to be free but we can never experience freedom until we experience the cross of Calvary. Until you get to a place where it is not your will anymore; Where you can say, like Jesus, Father this is what my intentions are but nevertheless not my will but your will be done, you’ll keep on struggling and it would appear as though this Christian thing isn’t working for you. In what areas of your life are you still struggling with God? Submit them to God today. ‘As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died… From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus’ Gal.6:14&17. Before the world looses its interest in you, you must go to the cross. The cross is a place where you table your agenda before God and let go of your will for His will.
Prayer: Father, open my eyes to see parts of my life that I need to bring to Calvary. Lead me to live a life that is totally submitted to You, in Jesus Name.
