Will You Wait?
‘Blessed (happy, blithesome, joyous, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the meek (the mild, patient, long-suffering), for they shall inherit the earth!’ Matt.5:5 [AMP]
The meek is patient, mild, and long-suffering. When your spouse aggravates you, because our spouses are sometimes anointed to aggravate us, do you want to shred them or are you mild? God says blessed are the meek, blessed are the mild, for they will inherit the land. Some time ago, a friend of mine got news that his wife had done something that was not so pleasing to him. So he had made up his mind and the plan was to go and give his wife a taste of what he was feeling. Then a mutual friend of ours showed up with a word from God for him. ‘Treat your wife the same way you want Me to treat you. If you want Me to be nice to you then be nice to her but if you want Me to be angry and deal with you then you have My permission to be angry and deal with her. I am going to deal with you exactly the way you deal with her’. My friend changed his mind and perhaps even went with a gift. I don’t know if he went with a gift but if I were the one I’d have gone with a gift if God had said that to me.
So are you waiting on God for a promise? Is there something God has promised you or you have seen in the Bible and you are waiting for God to bring it to pass in your life? Be patient my brother. It can be an unsettling experience particularly if you know that God can do it. Guess what, everyone who has walked with God has gotten to that point because there is nothing impossible with God. If you have expressed a particular need to your parents and you know they can afford that need yet they keep telling you to wait. Waiting at that point becomes the most difficult and frustrating experience. But God is saying to you today, blessed are the patient for they will inherit the earth. Your patience guarantees you that possession. Patience is a tough thing in our generation particularly because everything is so fast and it seems you can almost get anything instantly. But God’s ways are not our ways. God’s ways are different. Sometimes God requires that you wait. You need patience to enter the Promised Land.
Prayer: Father, I admit that waiting is not easy but I would rather wait for You than hurry into making a destiny altering mistake. I will wait on You, in Jesus Name.
