Have Faith & Build Faith

‘Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see’ Heb.11:1

As children of God everything we do really rests on faith. You call on the name of Jesus daily because you have faith that His name will bring deliverance to whatever situation you find yourself in. When you sit on a chair, you have faith that it can hold your weight.  Similarly as children of God, everything we do from here on till eternity should be based on faith. The only reason you know you are saved is because you have faith. Faith is a shield. It protects you from living only by what you can see and know but trusting in every Word that God speaks through His Word. The heroes of faith in Hebrews chapter 11 did amazing things for God because they had faith. I believe that trust is a deeper level of faith. It takes you beyond believing and seeing, to believing and not seeing but still trusting that what He has said will come to pass. ‘And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him’ Heb.11:6. What is that thing that you desire to do for the Kingdom of God, step out in faith and do it. Don’t limit yourself to the things you have and can see now, God is bigger than you can imagine. Make that move and watch the maker of heavens and earth back you up. A lot of us after hearing or reading about faith wonder how to go about getting faith. The Bible tells us that when we spend time reading the Word of God, fellowshipping with one another, and hearing the Words of God – listening to Christian messages by genuine children of God, then we build faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Faith is not will power neither is it self will. Faith is given to us by God to help us walk in a way that is pleasing to Him. It reveals our trust and dependence on Him as our Father and Creator. Faith reveals our belief that He has our best interest at heart. God is just and has given to every man a measure of faith (Romans 12:3b), we however need to build on that faith. Trust God and do greater works by increasing and building up your faith for greater things.

Prayer: Father, grant me faith by which I can move mountains for You. Lord Jesus help my unbelief, in Jesus Name.
