Not Your Thoughts

‘My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts, says the Lord.  And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine’ Isa.55:8.

Too often as children of God we ask too small and we want it too quickly. We want God to do “X” for us and probably the request is not what God would really want for us. Some of us even reason that we do not want to bother God with heavy requests or every request so we opt for just anything and not what our hearts truly desire. Meanwhile God does not want to give you just any job, He wants to establish you as an employer of labor over a period of time. Yet some of us even when we perceive what God’s long term plans are for our lives we still insist He gives us a temporary position because of life’s pressures. Christmas is proof that God is faithful. God promised that He will send a Messiah and Christmas is proof that God delivers on His promises. If you check in Scripture, even before God began to talk about the Messiah in Isaiah, He already talked about Jesus in Genesis. ‘And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel!Gen.3:15. The birth of Jesus was declared in Genesis after man fell. And time passed, is God slow – what is God doing? You need to know that God is never late, neither is He slow but that the vision is for an appointed time. And God’s reassurance for you this season is wait for it, for it will surely come to pass. And when the fullness of time came, Jesus appeared. ‘And you will recognize him by this sign: you will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger’ Luke 2:12. Imagine God’s answer –  a baby in a manger. The whole world needs a savior – a messiah and God’s response was to send a baby in a manger. Israel particularly needed a deliverer and God sent a baby in a manger not even a baby in the palace. The issue sometimes that we have is that we think that we think we can figure God out and that is the confusion of our lives really. And God comes in ways that we do not even understand but the important thing is that He comes anyway. God’s response to salvation for the entire world was a baby in a manger. So what are your expectations? God will send you unexpected solutions.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the assurance that comes with Your promises for my life. Forgive me for making You small in my eyes and enlarge my capacity for You and Your ways, in Jesus Name.
