Request & Fix
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace ALL who trust in you, ALL whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (emphasis added).
If you want God’s peace in your life, then you need to request for God’s peace. The truth is we do not pray for God’s peace enough. You need to request for and pray for God’s peace. Did you know that a lot of the Books in the New Testament start with a prayer for grace and peace? This is an important detail we must not miss or dismiss. An example is 2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way…” (NIV). Guess what? This is smack in the middle of the Book. I pray that the Lord of peace Himself will give you peace at all times and in every way in the Name of Jesus.
In my time with God at the beginning of the year 2020, the decade of destiny, the way God spoke to me that day was very instructional. It was like a command. You could say all His Words are commands. However, that is the best way I can explain that experience. God said to me, continually speak over God’s Favourite House, the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-27 NKJV). And that was what we declared consistently before COVID hit. Then the song The Blessing was released. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, in the Name of Jesus.
To experience God’s promise of peace, the fifth thing you must do is Keep Your thoughts On Jesus. You must keep your thoughts on Jesus. Isaiah 26:3 “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” (ESV, emphasis added). What is the Lord saying here? The Lord is saying that your daily experience of peace is a matter of where you choose to focus your thoughts. You can have perfect peace in a broken world. That is what the Word of God says, and that is what we have in Christ. Your circumstances are not perfect.
The world is not perfect. The people around you are not perfect. Your boss is not perfect. Your spouse is not perfect. Your children are not perfect. Your church is not perfect. But you can have perfect peace in a broken world and that is beautiful! God is not promising us perfect conditions, perfect emotions, perfect people, a perfect spouse, perfect children, or a perfect church. But is promising us perfect peace. And that will be your portion in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Prayer: Father, as I fix my thoughts on Jesus, I enjoy perfect peace, in Jesus Name. Amen!
