His Palm
Isaiah 49:15 “Can a mother forget the infant at her breast, walk away from the baby she bore? But even if mothers forget, I’d never forget you—never.” (MSG, emphasis added).
Most of us, if not all of us, have seen a mother breast feeding her baby. When the mother is breast feeding her baby, the baby is usually in the palm of her hands. This is the picture God is painting in this scripture. You are in the palm of God’s hands. The question is not can a mother forget a child. The question is, can a mother forget the child at her breast? And God goes on further to say that even if that were possible, He will NEVER forget you. What does never mean? Never means never. Therefore, you are always held securely in the loving grip of God’s grace. And that is what God wants you to understand.
This season and beyond, you must understand that not only will God’s finger work for you, but God’s hand will slap and blow your enemies. God’s palm is rocking you in the Name of Jesus. You must understand that God wants to hold you tenderly and lovingly. God wants you to think about His palms and be at peace confident that He can never ever forget you. He just can’t! When your family sees your palms, what do they feel? As a parent, when you raise your hands, what do your children feel? As a husband or wife when you raise your hands what does your spouse feel? In many homes, when the parent or spouses raise their hands, people feel fear because of the marks and scars those palms have drawn.
I have counselled quite a number of couples that when the husband raises his hands to hug his wife, the first thing she does is cringe. When I see that, I know there is a story of abuse there. If that is the case in your home, God will reverse it in the Name of Jesus. God will make your hands, hands of security for your children. Parents, refrain from hitting your children with your hands. Even the Bible recommends a rod of correction (Proverbs 22:15). It is so that your children separate your hand from the cane. Such that when they see the cane, they know trouble is coming. But when they see my hand, they know love is coming. Nobody is saying you should not discipline your children. But you are not to discipline your spouse.
I pray in the Name of Jesus, that your hands (your palms), will communicate love, acceptance, unmerited favour, and mercy. Let your children know that no matter what they do, they can run into your hands. I got into a lot of trouble growing up, some of which made my mother cry. Still, she is always there for me. Guess what? God is better and greater than my mother. No matter how I mess up, I can go to His hands. And He will receive me with an everlasting love.
Prayer: Father, I run into Your loving hands, hold me securely, in Jesus Name. Amen!
