Does He?
Philippians 2:13 “God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him.” (TPT)
It is impossible for you as a human being to live the Christian life by yourself, in your strength. Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who is at work within you, giving you the will and the power to achieve his purpose.” (PH, emphasis added). So, rather than trying to be like Jesus, let Jesus be Jesus in you. Allow Jesus to live through you and be God in your life. Realize that He is God, and you are not. Sometimes, when I say this, people push back. Some say to me, “Pastor, but I have the Holy Spirit.” You have the Holy Spirit, you do have the Holy Spirit, but does the Holy Spirit have you? Does He have you? It is only when He has you that He can live through you.
You can have the Holy Spirit but does He have you? Years ago, I was walking with a friend on the streets of London. Solid child of God, tongue-talking lady. Her sister had upset her so much and she said to me that she had to tell the Holy Ghost to stay aside first while she dealt with her. When she had finished dealing with her sister, she then said to the Holy Ghost, “Let’s continue”. Relative to her at the time, I was a new Christian. Those were the people who had been born again forever. And I was I was confused because I was like excuse me, how do you do that? How do you say to the Holy Spirit, just wait here let me… No. Make up your mind today to begin to release your life to Him because in Him we live, move, and have our being.
You have the Holy Spirit but does He have you? Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who is at work within you, giving you the will and the power to achieve his purpose.” (PH, emphasis added). Every purpose of God can only be achieved by God. The purposes of God in your life can only be achieved by God. No matter what it is, whether it is the things He is doing in you, the things He is doing through you, or the things He is doing for you. The purposes of God can only be achieved by God. Noah, for instance, it took him a hundred and twenty years to build the ark. How? One project, God told you something and you are on it for a hundred and twenty years.
And He says don’t worry, this thing called rain is going to happen. You don’t even know what rain is. But you stay on the project for a hundred and twenty years. Many people would have given up completely on God. Genesis 6:8 “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” I pray for you that you will find grace in the eyes of the Lord in the Name of Jesus. You will find grace in the eyes of the Lord in the Name of Jesus.
Prayer: Father, like Noah, let me find grace in Your eyes. Let the grace that starts and finishes, the grace that begins and completes come upon me, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
