Reboot?

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (NKJV)

There are several things that cause or demand a system reboot, and the first is what is known as a memory leak. A memory leak is when an application leaks memory and is not optimized. It makes the system run slowly. For many of us, when we look at our lives, it is like everything is just lethargic. It is like there is memory leakage, if you will. We waste energy on things that are not major (secondary issues), and we let our ultimate goals get crowded by urgent needs. So, we are lethargic, leaky, and in need of a reboot.

The second reason why systems need a reboot is the clogging of applications. You have many unnecessary applications running. And if we check our lives, we have many applications running. If you open some people’s laptops, you will see so many tabs running on their browsers. Each takes resources, taking space in memory, intermittently taking processor time, and the laptop becomes “tired”. This is very similar to the story of a lot of us. We are in the fifth month, but we are tired. We have applications open; several windows are open. Very often, our minds are clogged with irrelevant issues. She didn’t greet me well, so that becomes a problem that takes up space. Do you know that there is an app called “She didn’t greet me well“?

The app is open, running, and you have refused to close it because she didn’t greet me well. Another app that is running on our minds is “he looked at me funny”. “They did not acknowledge me when I walked in” is another app. So, we have unnecessary things going on in our minds, draining our resources. It is time to reboot! Sometimes, they are legitimate hurts, legitimate events. They should not have said that to you, but they did, and we keep the app running. Some of these apps are legitimate, and some are not necessary. Guess what? Whether they are necessary or not, they take up space. And we have several windows open, tens, twenties, sometimes hundreds open. And the system is dragging. You need a reboot!

What a reboot does is that it increases performance. All of a sudden, you are fresh again, you have life again, and you are performing at a top level again. A reboot saves power because you don’t have unnecessary apps draining power, draining resources—memory resources, processor resources, and network resources. The third thing that happens is that the system lasts longer. When you reboot, you increase your performance, save power, and your system (your life) lasts longer.

Prayer: Father, reboot my life for Your Name and glory’s sake, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
