Trusting Love

‘I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.’ Ps.27:13 [KJV].

I would have given up or even fainted except I believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I am here to say to you today that no matter how tough it is for you right now, you are going to see the goodness of the Lord, not only in heaven but also in the land of the living. And if you are seeing the goodness of the Lord already, then guess what, you are going to see another level of the goodness of the Lord. The preacher, Rick Warren, puts it this way, “since I know God loves me totally and wants what’s best for me I don’t have to understand every move He makes in my life”. It is when you have totally accepted that God loves you and that He wants the best for you that you will realize you don’t have to understand every move He makes. I am sure you agree that there are some certain things in life that just don’t make sense really? But since I know that God loves me totally and I have accepted the love of God, then I can be at peace amidst storms. If you are reading this today and you have not embraced or totally accepted the love of God, then let that be your starting point. When you accept that God loves you totally and God has got your back completely, guess what-even though you don’t understand everything, you will trust Him.

From this passage of scripture, we see clearly that we are not to approach prayer with the A.S.A.P [As Soon As Possible] mindset. The world is getting faster and every thing seems to be done at the speed of light. Subconsciously, we bring that into our relationship with God. From our phones we can order something online and it will be delivered in our homes in two days. So we bring the A.S.A.P mindset into our prayer. But what God is saying to you and I today is, rather than approaching prayer with the A.S.A.P mindset, we should approach prayer with the ‘As Long As It Takes’ [A.L.A.T] mindset. I have seen people come and say, ‘by my next birthday God should have done ABCDEFGH’ and I really appreciate their faith. I say, ‘Amen, according to your faith’. But you see I also know that God has His own timetable.

Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to trust and accept Your love completely, in Jesus Name.
