Don’t Dismiss

1 Kings 18:44 “Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Then Elijah shouted, “Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you!’” (emphasis added).

Psalm 123:2We look to Jehovah our God for his mercy and kindness just as a servant keeps his eyes upon his master or a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal.” (TLB). Many people miss the slight signals in their children. Your child is giving you a signal, you will not miss it in the Name of Jesus. Many children have become all sorts of things because parents miss the signals. There is always a signal. Your child is giving you a sign, do not miss it. For some, it is your spouse who is giving you a signal. There is a sign, a slight signal, do not miss it. For some, it is at work, in your business, that there is a signal. It is a slight signal, but you can see it. Do not miss it. The first reason people don’t see it is that they miss it completely.

The second reason people don’t see it is they dismiss it. The signal is so small that they dismiss it. He does not look like Prince Charming, so you dismiss him. You will not dismiss your destiny in the Name of Jesus. The things that pertain to your reign, you will not dismiss them in the Name of Jesus. The instructions that pertain to your promotion, you will not dismiss in the Name of Jesus. You need to get this; it is not that they do not see it. They actually don’t miss it, but they dismiss it. You may be reading this, and it is not that people have not seen you, but they have dismissed you. They are in for a shocker. Everybody who has dismissed you will come to you for help in the Name of Jesus.

They dismissed Jesus, they dismissed David, and they dismissed Joseph. But guess what? The stone that the builders dismissed has become the cornerstone (Psalm 118:22). The stone that the builders dismiss will become the cornerstone, and that will be your story in the Name of Jesus. They dismissed you, but they are coming to get help from you in the Name of Jesus. Help them because you are like your Father God, He causes His rain to fall on everybody. So, people may dismiss, but you don’t dismiss the slightest signals. You see it, do not dismiss it. You see a trait, it is a slight trait, don’t dismiss it. People dismiss things because they think it is too small.

Elijah’s servant could have said, “It is just a small cloud, the size of a man’s fist. A cloud like a man’s fist, how small is that in the scheme of things?” In fact, the Bible describes it as a small cloud the size of a man’s fist. People dismiss things because they are small. People dismiss things because of preference; they don’t like them. We are asking for plenty of rain, so what are we going to do with a small cloud? Yet, Elijah’s response to the same small cloud was, “Hurry!”

Prayer: Father, help me not to dismiss the slight signals, the small cloud, in Jesus Name. Amen!
