Stay On The Wheel!
‘So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over’ Jer.18:3-4.
Let’s go back to the beginning but this time, let’s see what would have happened if things played out differently. The angels were marveling at God just speaking the words and the earth taking shape at His word. ‘Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us’ Gen.1:26. And at this point, the Almighty God bends down, takes dust, and begins to form it. And all the angels begin to speak at once in total amazement. ‘What is He doing? He has been calling forth everything but why is He picking up dust? He is going to get His hands dirty!’ But God is focused on the dust in the palm of His hands, shaping, sculpting and forming this being. Then He places it in the middle of the garden and calls it man. ‘What was this lifeless thing He had formed from the dust of the earth?’, the angels wondered. ‘There is nothing to it; it is just a beautiful sculpture. Do we have muscles like this – man?’, they thought. And just at that point it began to rain heavily from heaven. Now stop and think what would have happened to the lifeless clay sculpture standing there? The rain would have washed it away because at that time Adam’s casing was just a show of potential. What would happen to us if the Potter were not so intense with us, keeping His hands in our lives at all times, towering over us and sheltering us from the rain. What would happen if the Potter had the same attitude towards you as you have towards Him? What would happen if He said, after all it’s just for one day, nothing would happen if I step aside for just a little while. And just then rain falls from heaven and washes the worthless clay piece away. It never receives the breath of God and it would never reach its full potential or become what the Potter had envisioned. Thank God He did not step aside, thank God it did not rain. Instead we received the breath of life, man became a living soul, and the presence of the Holy Spirit entered him. I pray that you will allow God breathe on you. And that you will allow the life of God to breathe and bring forth every potential that He had when He made you. So that you will enter into the perfect picture the Potter has for your life.
Prayer: Father, thank You for being the Potter who makes something beautiful out of worthless dust. Thank You for beautifying my life, in Jesus Name.
