This Path
Jeremiah 6:16 “Eternal One (to the people): Stand at the crossing, and consider the ancient path, for it is good and it leads to Me. Walk on this path, and you will find rest for your souls. But they have said, “We will not walk upon this road.” (The Voice)
Jeremiah 6:16 “This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, [the ancient paths,]…” (NLT & NIV, emphasis added). In the Kingdom, you have an inheritance, and that inheritance has a boundary line. And that boundary line will be preserved, and it will be delivered to you in the Name of Jesus. Psalm 16:6 “The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” (NIV). As you journey on the path to restoration, STOP, ASK, and then WALK. Jeremiah 6:16 “This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, [the ancient paths,] and walk in it…” (NLT & NIV, emphasis added).
What is the point of stopping, looking around, asking, gaining wisdom, and doing nothing about it? Interestingly, many people have stopped, quieted themselves, looked around, asked questions, gained wisdom, and they have done nothing about it. For instance, wisdom has said that you need to make a hundred sales calls to get ninety-nine NOs and one Yes. Then you make fifteen calls, and you say, I am tired, this thing is so hard. No, that is not working, that is foolishness. If you find wisdom and it says you need to make a hundred calls, make a thousand calls. Walk in it; then you are guaranteed ten businesses. Walk in it.
Jeremiah 6:16 “…Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’” (NLT & NIV, emphasis added). These people stopped, looked around, asked for wisdom, acquired wisdom, saw the path, yet they still said, “…No, that is not the path…” Isn’t it ironic? Then they will come back and say God did this and God did that. For those who do that, may God not slap your mouth in Jesus Name. Some will say God doesn’t work, or the Word doesn’t work, or the prayer doesn’t work. No, you are not walking in it! You need to walk in it, and you will walk in it in the Name of Jesus. That is how it works. You need to walk in it. To get the value, you have to walk in it.
There is an aspect of walking in it that I want to highlight, and that is the aspect of walking wisely. You have to walk wisely. A classic example is David. David was anointed by God. When he was about to face Goliath, he said to Saul, “…the lion came, I killed it, the bear came, I killed it, I am going to kill this uncircumcised Philistine!” And because he was anointed, he took down Goliath, and the rest was history. We will delve in deeper tomorrow, by God’s grace.
Prayer: Father, as You reveal restoration-road to me, I walk in it, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
