Do It Daily

‘And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, O Lord, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the Lord thy God, and worship before the Lord thy God’ Deut.26:10 [KJV]

The fifth thing you have to reinforce or learn these last few days of the year and put before you in the coming year is make God priority. You must make God priority daily. Everyone that will have a significant walk with God, that will walk in unprecedented prosperity, and favour must understand the place of prioritizing God. It is called the principle of first fruits. If you check from Genesis to Revelations, God demonstrates this principle in different scenarios but it is the same principle. The God first principle! Who taught Abel to bring the first fruit of his flock to God? Something on the inside of him knew without a doubt that God deserves the first and the best. With Abraham God said Isaac is your first fruit, sacrifice him to Me. Abraham understanding the God first principle was going to do it but God redeemed Isaac. Your first-born child belongs to God. Redeeming your first born from God will clear a lot of things for that child and make a lot of things work for him or her.

The tithe is a type of the first fruit. Meaning, the tithe is not just ten percent but the tithe is the first ten percent. Tithing is honoring God with the first ten percent of your income. At some point, God blessed me with a Porsche. That car to me was a first fruit of a certain kind of cars. A time came when God was calling for the car and I agreed to give it to God. Shortly after that someone approached me and said he was going to give me five million. Which was the amount I would have sold the car. So I gave God the money as the sacrifice and redeemed the car. The truth is nobody can teach you these things. You either enter into it or you don’t. You either see it or you don’t. I pray your eyes will be opened and the Holy Spirit will guide you into it. Some of us know what God expects from us but we want to dribble God. For instance, it is at seasons like this when it is close to the end of the year that I get calls from people asking me to explain ‘this first fruit thing’. Guess what, the first fruit sacrifice particularly is really not compulsory. Unlike tithe, first fruit is not compulsory. But there are certain things you want to enter into, depths you want to go with God that only such sacrifices can carry you into. Make God priority even with your time.

Prayer: Precious Holy Spirit, give me a deeper understanding of these things and the grace to honour God by making Him priority always, in Jesus Name.
