Right Now I

‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea’ Ps.46:1-2 [KJV]

I don’t know the phase of life you are in right now. I don’t know what struggles you are going through or dealing with. But I am here to tell you that God is your very present help. Present means now. You may have bills to pay, or perhaps your rent is due, maybe you have accommodation issues, or even a career issue, perhaps you have a health challenge, or you have a child that is delinquent. Whatever the challenge may be, Jesus is your very present help in time of trouble. ‘… though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea’. The fact that Jesus is present does not mean the earth will not quake. Yet even though the earth is quaking beneath you, even though mountains are shaking before you, you will not be afraid because Jesus is your very present help. Is your marriage under fire? Don’t be afraid, Jesus is your very present help. Say it aloud to yourself, “Jesus is my very present help”. The reason we run helter-skelter is because we don’t know that He is present and He is present to help us.

A young man went for a crusade in a village that had been held captive by a notoriously occultic witch. Day one of the crusade people gave their lives to Jesus, which means the witch lost customers and the people she was oppressing were being freed. So she sent him a message threatening to destroy him. Day two of the crusade, more people gave their lives to Jesus. So this time the witch decided to visit him in person. The young man while sharing his testimony described where he was staying in the village as “a room in the forest”. As you can imagine the windows had no bars or burglary proof. He said the atmosphere of his room changed and fear filled the room. Just as he was wondering what was happening, he saw the witch standing at the window in full regalia, threating that the last day of the crusade must not hold. He looked at her, smiled, turned his back and slept off. He knew that they that are with him are more. A lot of people would have started screaming, looking for anointing oil or their phone to call their Pastor. What is that? Jesus says I Am your very present help. Jesus is greater than the anointing oil. Jesus says before the Pastor was born, I Am; after the Pastor has gone, I will be. You must know Him. And at the last day of the crusade when he gave an altar call, the witch was the first person to come forward.

Prayer [song]: My hope is built on nothing less then Jesus Blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly trust in Jesus Name. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand. Amen!
