In Unity

“But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Acts 3:6

If You’re Going To Make A Huge Difference In This World You Have To Learn To Be Bold About Prayer and To Pray Bold Prayers. When Jesus left, all His disciples were filled with boldness and prayed bold prayers. In Acts 3, Peter and John were going to the Temple to pray and they met a cripple man by the gate called Beautiful and the man was begging for money. Peter and John looked steadfastly at the man and said to him silver and gold we have not but that which we have we give unto you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth stand up and walk. And the man stood up and walked. That singular act got Peter and John in trouble. And the man was walking leaping, and praising God through out the whole community. But some people were not happy. When you pray bold prayers, some people will not be happy but there is nothing you can do about it. So they imprisoned them, the people that just healed someone that had been with them for perhaps a decade. In Acts 4, they brought John and Peter out and they told them to stop preaching in the name of Jesus. And Peter said to them is it better for us to obey God or for us to obey you? He says we will not stop preaching in the name of Jesus for there is no salvation in any other, neither is there salvation in any other name under heaven. They were going to kill them but when they saw the miracle and they saw people that had gathered, they flogged them and sent them away. “As soon as they were freed, Peter and John returned to the other believers and told them what the leading priests and elders had said. When they heard the report, all the believers lifted their voices together in prayer to GodActs 4:23-24 [emphasis added]. And this is so instructive. People question why we lift up our voices in church and pray so loudly? The answer is it is scriptural. Why do we have to pray together in unity? It is in the Bible they lifted up their voices together all the believers in unity. When the church comes together to pray in unity about issues, God attends to those issues. We have heard a lot of testimonies of healings that were a result our voices lifted together in prayer. For instance, in the build up to our special service, the God Will Do It Again service, we put out prayer baskets for people to write down the names of their loved ones who are sick but cannot make it to the meeting. Then we lift up our voices as a church and pray for those people and God heals them. God responds when His people pray in unity.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Stretch out Your hand with healing power over this nation Nigeria and over the Church. May Your will be done in every home, in Jesus Name.
