Fearless

“Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day” Ps.91:5

Fear is not a respecter of seasons. You may be in the season of day [day here means bloom], and the enemy will still try to fire arrows at you. But God is saying to you today, do not be afraid of the arrows that fly in the day. You may be in your night season [night here means gloom], laden with challenges you need to solve. But that does not stop the enemy from bringing terror to your doorstep. God is saying, “do not be afraid of the terror by night”. Yet people go into seasons afraid of things that very often do not happen.

The fear starts with getting a job? You get a job. Then will I get promoted? You get promoted. Will I get married? You get married? Will I have children? You are pregnant. Will I lose this pregnancy? No, you will not! You have children but they are all girls, will I have boys? And the list goes on and on. You will either live your life by faith or you will live your life by fear, the choice is yours! But the Word of God says that the just [justified born again child of God] shall live by faith. God has asked me to say to you, fear not!

Psychologists tell us that people fear all sorts of things and it is called phobia. Agyrophobia is the fear of streets or crossing the street. Amaxophobia is the fear of riding in a car. Anablephobia is the fear of looking up. Do not be afraid to look up because that is where your help comes from. Caligynephobia is the fear of beautiful women. Chrematophobia is the fear of money. Gamophobia is the fear of marriage and the list goes on. “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” 1Jn.4:18  [NIV, emphasis added]. God wants you to cast out every phobia and be established in the love of the Father.

“Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes” Prov. 3:25. In other words, God is saying, do not be afraid of fear. Fear is inevitable but do not be afraid. God wants us to be fearless. Being fearless is not being where we feel no fear. A lot people strive to get to the place where they feel no fear. Some get there but discover that it is transient. Being fearless is a state where you are no longer afraid of fear. God is saying to you, do not fear fear!

Prayer: I will not be afraid of the terrors of the night, or the arrow that flies in the day. I will be established in God’s perfect love, in Jesus Name.
