Faithful in Little

‘If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities’. Luke 16:10

A lot of us have great dreams and huge ambition but God in His infinite wisdom has chosen to start us off in humble ways. The truth is your response to the little things will be your response   to the little things will be your response to greater responsibility. Instead, a lot of us, dissatisfied with the size of our dreams and size of God’s response, choose to belittle what God has given us. The reason is simple, we want the big things which causes us to be blinded to what God is doing. God is saying ‘If you’re not honest in small jobs, who will put you in charge of the store?Luke 16:10 [MSG]. ‘For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s Church?’ 1Tim.3:5. To become a leader in God’s house, He requires that you first take care of the flock [family] He has entrusted into your hands. Most times, God’s training ground for us is located in the most unlikely places. David acquired the skills he needed to rule the nation while keeping sheep. It was his faithfulness in little that affirmed him ready to handle much more. Daniel’s faithfulness made him appealing to the king who kept entrusting him with more and more. To the servant who turned five talents into ten, the master entrusted much more. These are examples to follow. Your faithfulness in little is the resume God will check when you send in your application for greatness. Can Jesus entrust His children into your hands? How are you treating your own children or children you have encountered? You are praying for a husband; then evaluate your relationship with other people’s husbands. The farmer has to faithfully water every seed to see harvest in the coming season. In every one of us, God has planted seeds of greatness. The life or death, bareness or fruitfulness of the seeds requires faithfulness and effort on our side.

Prayer: Father, teach me faithfulness anew today. Faithfulness in this heart walk, my assignment, my family, my relationships, Your charge, the community, and the nation, in Jesus Name.
