I Must!

Hab.2:2 [TEV] “The Lord gave me this answer, ‘Write down clearly … what I reveal to you…’”

We continue in our lessons from Habakkuk and John the Baptist; lessons about fine-tuning.

Lesson #5. I must write: You need to record the ideas you receive from the Holy Spirit. Hab.2:2 [TEV, emphasis added] “The Lord gave me this answer, ‘Write down clearly … what I reveal to you…” [emphasis added]. I suggest you take notes when God is teaching you. Do it the old fashioned way, get a journal and pen it down. On each page, outline three columns: (1) The Question I asked, (2) What God said, and (3) Action point. The faintest pen is sharper than the faintest memory. If you must use your smart device then get an application that will organize your note so that they are not everywhere.

Let me give you an example. When God had shown us the land He was giving us in Lekki, Lagos [God’s Favourite House]. I sat with Him and my question was, “Lord, how do we take this land?” His response was, “Go there and take the soil”. So I did just that and I put the land in my prayer room. So months before we physically got the land, I had it in my prayer room. It helped me see it and I could take it to God consistently declaring, “Father, we take possession of this land in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth”. And in that place of prayer, I received next steps on what to do and I carried out every instruction He gave me. In that place of prayer, I tore down the opinions of men and God honored it. Then after a while, we moved to the land and everybody rejoiced. What I am saying is this, God wants to hear you and deliver your future to you. If you do these things your life will change totally.

Ps.102:18 [NCV, emphasis added]Write these things down for the future so that people who are not yet born will praise the Lord.”  Why write?

  1. Writing helps you to focus your thoughts.
  2. It helps you to remember what you said and what God said.
  3. It helps you test the impressions you get.
  4. It preserves your spiritual legacy for your children and future generations.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray that You will see my writing as an expression of my desire to obediently do what You say and it will be pleasing unto You, in Jesus Name. Amen!
