Happenings I

Gen.32:9 Then Jacob prayed, “O God of my grandfather Abraham, and God of my father, Isaac—O Lord, you told me, ‘Return to your own land and to your relatives.’ And you promised me, ‘I will treat you kindly.”

It is one thing to be blessed but it is another thing to fulfill your destiny. You can be blessed and still be pitiable. There are some people that are blessed physically but heaven pities them. May that not be your portion, in Jesus Name. This season is for those who will press forward into their destiny and into their next level. The truth remains that miracles happen outside your comfort zone. Three things happened to Jacob that show us that miracles do not happen in your comfort zone.

1st Happening: To fulfill his destiny, Jacob needed to move out of Laban’s house. For you to fulfill your destiny, you need to leave Laban’s house. What does Laban’s house represent? Laban’s house represents the place of safety. Remember that Jacob ran to Laban’s house for safety so that he would not get killed. It is not that Laban’s house is evil but you cannot stay in Laban’s house and fulfill your destiny. God wants you to leave Laban’s house because nobody plays it safe into greatness. Nobody becomes great by playing it safe. Laban’s house is the epitome of comfort zone. Step out of the comfort zone so that you can experience a miracle. Playing it safe will only keep you in your comfort zone and miracles do not happen in your comfort zone. Miracles only happen outside the comfort zone. So what is it that represents Laban’s house that you need to move from? God is saying to you today, you need to move out of your comfort zone.

2nd Happening: To fulfill his destiny, Jacob had to face [confront] his Esau. The “Esau” in our lives represents the relationship that we want to avoid. And we can successfully avoid for a season but most times, God requires that we face up to it and square things out. Esau and Jacob were twins, so in a way Esau was part of Jacob’s life. “Esau” is that part of us that we will sell our birthright to for pleasure. We all have that part in us that wants to take the short cut to glory without paying the price. By God’s grace as someone that has overcome and is still overcoming “Esau”, I say you will overcome Esau, in Jesus Mighty Name.

Prayer: Lord, as I step out of my comfort zone and confront “Esau”, let it please The Lord to propel me into the miraculous and into my destiny, in Jesus Name. Amen!
