Lock It Down!

Gen.32:²⁴ “…But Jacob said, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” ²⁸ “Your name will no longer be Jacob,” the man told him. “From now on you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have won.””

How can a man wrestle with God and win? It is easy to read this and miss the weight of the exchange that happened and the statement that God made. The Lord is God, the God of all the earth. The One that gave boundaries to the proud waves of the sea; the same One that gives command to the lightening and marches out the stars every night. He is God, the One who humbles the proud and dispossesses mighty kings. The One whose breath laid bare the depths of the Red Sea. This same God wrestled with Jacob and declared Jacob the winner. I pray that before this season is over, you would have learnt how to hold God down and win. May the Lord Himself declare concerning you, that you have prevailed with God and with man.

The key to prevailing in the spiritual is: do not take ”NO” for an answer.  Take note that this does not translate to being stubborn or being strong headed. The question is, what has God said concerning you? Once you find out what God has said concerning you, you lock it down! Gen.32:⁹ Then Jacob prayed, “O God of my grandfather Abraham, and God of my father, Isaac—O Lord, you told me, ‘Return to your own land and to your relatives.’ And you promised me, ‘I will treat you kindly.’ …¹² But you promised me, ‘I will surely treat you kindly, and I will multiply your descendants until they become as numerous as the sands along the seashore…” [emphasis added]. What we see here is Jacob locking it down with God.

What has God said to you?  I am here to say to you today that what God has said to you will come to pass in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Do not take no for an answer; stay in that place with God. What I am sharing with you may sound simple but it is huge spiritually. It is the ability to have influence in the spirit realm. Many people have their own plans for your life and there are certain things that heaven has given ordinances for. But if you understand these things then you can change things. The Bible says, they that know their God will be strong and do exploits. What has God said about you? Locate it, lock it down and do not take no for an answer. May you prevail with God and with man.

Prayer: Father, I declare that I will prevail with God and with man because of Your unfailing love and kindness towards me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
