A New Thing I
‘But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do’. Isa.43:18
God wants to give you a new beginning but the condition He is placing before you is forget the past. Forget the mistakes you have made, let go of the relationship that has ended, let go of the past pain and regrets, stop condemning yourself. Let it all go. What is done is done, it’s time to move on because God is about to do a new thing. On the other hand, some us have experienced breakthroughs and seen God work in certain dimensions that have marveled us. God is saying forget all that because its child’s play compared to what He is about to do. There is so much ahead of you; you have not seen anything yet. Sometimes, we get so attached to the things God has done and embracing the new thing becomes a problem. People have problems envisioning a new level because of the previous level. ‘Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus’ Philip 3:13-14. Do not let what you have seen cause you to become relaxed such that you miss out on what you are yet to see. Paul was saying he has developed a singular process which is the process of constant improvement. Greatness has to be a deliberate process; to put behind you what God has done because what lies ahead of you is greater than what lies behind you. The key to accessing the future is forgetting the past. ‘From the dew of heaven and the richness of the earth, may God always give you abundant harvests of grain and bountiful new wine’ Gen.27:28. You need to come to God with a fresh page so that He can write out new visions on it. It was the new page you started on in the past that brought you to this level of greatness. It is the new leaf you turn to spiritually today that will take you to your next level of greatness.
Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace to let go of the old and embrace the fullness of new beginnings You are bringing my way. I ask for bountiful new spiritual wine, in Jesus Name.
