Sources of Storms II

‘The farmer’s workers… said, Sir, the field where you planted that good seed is full of weeds! Where did they come from? An enemy has done this!’ the farmer exclaimed…’ Matt.13:27-28

The second source of the storms is the enemy. The farmer in the story in Matthew 13:24-27 had done what he was supposed to do. In other words he was in the right but he still encountered storms caused by the enemy. You may be experiencing something similar in your life, business, marriage, or education. You started out with good seed but the enemy has sown thorns alongside your seed. The enemy is determined to wipe you out, his mission is to kill, steal and destroy. Jesus says ‘I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly’ as such he will fail in Jesus name. Sometimes, such storms can be rebuked immediately by the power in the Name of Jesus and you will experience an immediate calm. However, at other times, you would have to ride out the storm and trust God. ‘No, he replied, you’ll uproot the wheat if you do. Let both grow together until the harvest’. Trying to get out of the storm prematurely might result in losing your seed. Unlike Jonah, Job knew that the calamity that had befallen him was not his fault. However he had to trust God in the midst of the storm and ride it out. Many times when the storms are from the enemy, they have more roots in the spiritual than in the physical. Seeking the face of God is paramount to calming every storm. ‘He saw that they were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling against the wind and waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water… “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage! I am here! Then he climbed into the boat, and the wind stoppedMark 6:47-51. The enemy intended it to harm you but your deliverance will ride in on that same storm. Take courage, Jesus will not ignore your struggling. Take your eyes off the storm, fix it on Jesus and call out to Him for help. Jesus will deal with every storm you are facing today without fail.
