Power of Community
‘Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts’ Acts 2:46 [NIV].
‘They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved’ Acts 2:46-47(MSG). Corporate worship and house worship leads to community impact and transformation. In God’s Favourite House, we grow larger in our Corporate gatherings, smaller at the life group meetings and deeper in our relationship with Jesus. It is our vision to fill every life with the life of Christ, release people into their destinies and take the world for Jesus. The New Testament Church leveraged their home meetings to impact their community for Jesus. It is in the community that we impact and influence people for Jesus. By getting personal with individual, spiritual, physical and emotional needs of the Church. The ultimate purposes of God cannot be fulfilled in a Church building alone. As such, we need to take the fire out of the Church building as it were and into our homes, offices, businesses, classrooms, and to the government. Being part of the community most times translates to being vulnerable to people. Some people have been hurt by this experience and resolved to build walls around themselves. While that protects you, it also limits you. God’s purposes for your life are beyond just you. No one is immune to such hurt, however the purposes of God outweigh the imperfections of the men [2 Cor. 11:26]. It can be tough especially when the hurt is caused by ‘brethren’ but God expects you to focus on Him and step out in faith again. The personal touch that every human being, Christians included, desires is the prime focus of the smaller groups. Where you enjoy focused bible study, learn new things about God and this heart walk through other people’s experiences, and eat together. Where ever we gather in the name of Jesus, He shows up and joy overflows.
Thought: The purposes of God outweigh the imperfections of the men, join a life group today.
Prayer: Father I ask for the grace to take the fire from the larger community into my smaller community and influence lives for Jesus. Grace me for possible offence in Jesus Name.
