Plug The Leaks III
‘Not doing what God tells you is far worse than fooling around in the occult. Getting self-important around God is far worse than making deals with your dead ancestors. Because you said No to God’s command, He says No to your kingship’ 1 Sam.15: 23 [MSG]
The third thing that leads to losses is Disobedience to God. You cannot refuse to listen to God and expect establishment. The only answer to this leak is obedience to God. Establishment neither comes from the east nor from the west but from God alone. ‘…It was I who sent this great destroying army against you’ [Joel 2:25b]. You will reap what you sow. The question on our hearts should be if God be against us, who can be for us? It is a terrible thing to fall into the hand of the Living God. Obedience leads to blessings but disobedience leads to curses. When you disobey God, you are inflicting a curse on yourself; it is called the curse of disobedience. Read Malachi 3. I have encountered people who question why God would punish the nation of Israel for not paying tithe and offerings. The truth is that God was not cursing them but merely showing them the result of their disobedience. When you obey God you gain grounds and when you disobey God you lose grounds. ‘…Obedience is better than sacrifice…’ 1 Sam.15:22. The truth is that the reason we do not obey is because we really do not know God. If you really knew who God is, obedience will be your response to every instruction. ‘Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead’ Heb.11:19. When you know God, you will know that when He asks you to give, He is setting you up for greatness. You cannot out give God. Sometimes obeying God requires that you give your all, emptying your account and having to depend on God daily. Even this is a blessing because it is place of intimacy with God. In fact, most often the required giving will be irrational. Knowing God, when He says do the irrational, He is setting you up for unimaginable breakthrough. Take the bold step like Abraham did, trusting that God who rewarded his obedience will reward yours. You cannot be more giving than God.
Prayer: Father, I ask for the wisdom never to hold anything back from You. Teach me Your ways Lord so that I will obey You instinctively trusting in Your character at all times, in Jesus Name.
