Recall

1 Samuel 17:36-37 “I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!”

You cannot afford to have the memory of a goldfish in your walk with God. God has a track record of faithfulness and that is what David was saying. “He is the same God who through me

Pray!

2 Chronicles 20:6 “Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.” (NIV, emphasis added).

When we look at this passage of Scripture, it seems Jehoshaphat is reminding God of who He is. But actually, Jehoshaphat was reminding himself about who God is by telling God who He is.

Tune In & Pray

2 Chronicles 20:3-4 “Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.  The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord…” (NIV, emphasis added).

Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord. Jehoshaphat made up his mind to inquire of the Lord. You need to make up your mind to tune in to God. Enough of being wishy-washy.

Tune In

2 Chronicles 20:1 “After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to wage war against Jehoshaphat.” (NIV)

When you read 2 Chronicles 20 (please read), you see that the tide was against Jehoshaphat and the children of Israel. They needed a miracle. Do you need a miracle?

To Serve

Isaiah 6:8 “Then I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, ‘Whom can I send? Who will go for us?’ So I said, ‘Here I am. Send me!’” (NCV, emphasis added).

Send Me!

Isaiah 6:8 “Then I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, ‘Whom can I send? Who will go for us?’ So I said, ‘Here I am. Send me!’” (NCV, emphasis added).

This is actually the most popular “Here I Am”. When Isaiah heard God’s voice, he responded, “Here I am, send me.” The story of my conversion is from this story. Sometime in August 1995,

The Paradox

Isaiah 6:5 “So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.” (NKJV)

God already knows what is in our hearts. But God tests us to reveal what is in our hearts to us and sometimes to the people around us. God does not test us to grade us.

Genesis 18:19 “I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.”

Voice Recognition

1 Samuel 3:7-8 “Samuel did not yet know the Lord because he had never had a message from the Lord before. So the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me? Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy.”

So, Eli gave Samuel a crash course on hearing from God. 1 Samuel 3:9-10So he said to Samuel, “Go and lie down again, and if someone calls again, say, ‘Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to bed.
