Enough!

For in Christ there is all of God in a human body; so you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled with God through your union with Christ. He is the highest Ruler, with authority over every other power” Col.2:9-10 [TLB]

Jesus is enough! What does the word enough mean? The dictionary defines enough to mean: adequate for a want or need. Enough means to be sufficient for a purpose or to satisfy the desire. Enough can be interchanged with sufficient because sufficient also means adequate for a purpose or enough. These words might be interchanged as we go on, so please take note. How Will You Respond?

“One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” John 5:5-6

The pool of Siloam was God’s answer to healing for a lot of the people at the time. When it gets stirred, the first person that gets in gets healed regardless of the disease. This man had been there for thirty-eight years waiting for his turn – his own answer. But each time the pool was stirred, before he could get in, somebody always got in before him. Jesus was Read the rest of this entry

What Do You Know?

Then, surrounded by the Pharisees, Jesus asked them a question: “What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?” They replied, “He is the Son of David” Matt.22:41-42.

Then The Answer [Jesus] introduces a twist to the questions flying back and forth. Jesus, The Answer, asks a question. When Jesus asks you a question it is definitely not to gain insight because He already knows the answer. When The Answer asks you a question it’s one of two things; it’s either He wants to shut you up or He wants to help you. In the above quoted Read the rest of this entry

Ask

“Jesus replied, “Moses permitted divorce only as a concession to your hard hearts, but it was not what God had originally intended. And I tell you this, whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery—unless his wife has been unfaithful.” Matt.19:8-9

Today we will be dealing with the follow up question to the question on marriage. “Jesus’ disciples then said to him, “If this is the case, it is better not to marry! “Not everyone can accept this statement,” Jesus said. “Only those whom God helpsMatt.19:10-11. Until you see that it is better not to marry, you are not fit to marry. What I mean is this; until you see Read the rest of this entry

Address The Source

“Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’” Matt.19:4

Don’t you just like David? David shows up on the scene, sees goliath, and asks what are they going to give to the person who takes down this giant? [Please read 1 Sam.17] David was negotiating his reward before he took on the battle. People may say how can he be so selfish? Is he not an Israelite? Can’t he do it for patriotism? David says, ‘No, I see things differently. Read the rest of this entry

You Will Be Rewarded!

“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” John 8:4-5

What a question! The question on adultery; Please read John 8:1-11. How can it only be the woman that was caught? Can a woman commit adultery by herself? So where is the man? They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger” John 8:6. Jesus was probably infuriated Read the rest of this entry

Asking or Answering?

“Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” Matt.18:21

The question on forgiveness. It is pivotal that Jesus answered the question on forgiveness. Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” Have you met people that ask a question and offer the answer? Peter said seven times? In other words, “Jesus, don’t go past seven please”. Then Read the rest of this entry

The Kingdom

“About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” Matt.18:1

I was in a session where Dr. Mensah Otabil said, “where two or three are gathered, there would be power struggle”. Even in a house, amongst those in the house, there is power struggle. There ought not to be; but there is. Jesus, in answering the question on greatness says that in the Kingdom, to go up you have to come down. The greatest in the Read the rest of this entry

He Questions

“Herod was delighted at the opportunity to see Jesus… and had been hoping for a long time to see him perform a miracle. He asked Jesus question after question, but Jesus refused to answer” Luke 23:8-9.

For some of us, the questions are not coming from us but rather the questions are directed at us. People are asking us very daft questions. Is it because you didn’t pray enough that you didn’t get the job? – daft question. Was it because you didn’t fast enough that you didn’t get the promotion? – daft question. Is it because your parents have done some terrible things Read the rest of this entry

He Answers

“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him” John 9:3.

Jesus is The Answer and as The Answer, He was asked a whole lot of questions. I did a little bit of research and I discovered that Jesus was asked about a hundred and ten documented questions. That’s a lot in three years. Thirty-seven out of the one hundred and ten questions were asked by Jesus Himself. Jesus would ask a question and He would answer it Himself. Read the rest of this entry
