Store It or Pour It?

Mark 14:3 “…Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard. She broke open the jar and poured the perfume over his head.”

Christened

Philippians 2:9-10 “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth” (NKJV)

Acts 19:13-16 A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!” Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this.

Is That So?

Exodus 15:9-10 “The enemy boasted, ‘I will chase them and catch up with them. I will plunder them and consume them. I will flash my sword; my powerful hand will destroy them.’ But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.”

Exodus 5:1-2 After this presentation to Israel’s leaders, Moses and Aaron went and spoke to Pharaoh. They told him, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Let my people go so they may hold a festival in my honour in the wilderness.” “Is that so?” retorted Pharaoh. “And who is the Lord?

Great Unique Voice

Genesis 12:2-3 “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (KJV).

So, when God says, I Will Give You A Name the first implication is God Will Make Your Name Great. Your name will be resounding. When God gives you a name, it means your name becomes amplified. Read the rest of this entry

The Reason

Genesis 12:2-3 “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (KJV, emphasis added)

God’s purpose of making your name great is to make you a blessing to many. It is not to make your name great so that you can become proud. God will make your name great because He wants you to be a blessing. Read the rest of this entry

Limitless

James 1:6-8 “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do”. (NIV)

God says, I Will Give You A Name. Do not be double-minded. God can make your name great. God can give you a name personally, or He can give you a name through the people you are associated with. Read the rest of this entry

No Doubt!

Luke 16:16 “The Law and the Prophets remained until John. Since then, the good news about the kingdom of God has been proclaimed, and everyone entering it is under attack.” (ISV, emphasis added).

Wow! Every time you press into the Kingdom, you come under attack. But you will prevail. The more you press in, you shake off the attacks of the enemy, and you enter into that promise. Read the rest of this entry

Earnestly

James 5:17-18 “Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops.”
