Resting?

Ex.20: 8 “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 You have six days each week for your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God…”

 

Traditionally, the Sabbath day falls on a Saturday. This is the reason the Jews still go to the synagogue on Saturday. But the early church moved their day of worship to Sunday in honour of Christ’s resurrection and the headship of Jesus.

Above All

Luke 11:2 (VOICE) “Here’s how to pray: Father [in heaven], may Your name be revered. May Your kingdom come. [May Your will be accomplished on earth as it is in heaven.]

 

Today’s devotion will take a slightly different pattern. Today, like Jesus, we will begin and end with prayer. So, say out loud to God: “Father, here I am before You Lord.

Shining Armour

No Equal

The first commandment lays the foundation for freedom. However, the challenge most times is in embracing God unconditionally. Will you embrace God with conditions or will you embrace Him unconditionally? Read the rest of this entry

The Ten II

Rom.6:16 (ERV) “Surely you know that you become the slaves of whatever you give yourselves to. Anything or anyone you follow will be your master. You can follow sin, or you can obey God. Following sin brings spiritual death, but obeying God makes you right with him.”

 

Every one of the Ten Commandments introduces a struggle. Every Commandment exposes a battle in us that everyone must wrestle with and that battle can be summed up as “Me or Jesus?” Read the rest of this entry

The Ten I

Heb.8:10 “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

 

God gave Moses two stone tablets upon which He had handwritten the Ten Commandments. But in anger, Moses smashes both, right? So, God told Moses to carve two new tablets and bring them up the mountain. Guess what? Read the rest of this entry
