Stay On Track

Let everyone be sure to do his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work done well, and won’t need to compare himself with someone else” Gal. 6:4 [LB]

The first way to reduce the stress of competition  is to Stop Comparing. Comparing is a foolish thing to do because you are unique. God designed you uniquely. In fact, God designed your genes uniquely. No two human beings have the same genes. You have designer genes. Why is it a bad thing to compare? It is because it causes envy and bitterness. It makes you miserable, do not do it. “Let everyone be sure to do his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work done well, and won’t need to compare himself with someone else” Gal.6:4[LB, emphasis added]. Watch Out!

Then He said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions” Luke 12:15 [NIV]

The default mode in conflict situations, even when you are tender hearted, is to be tough and deal with the other person. But each time you go that route, you are going against scriptures and God cannot bless you. Every time I read this portion of Scripture I wish God could have said not offending one another. Would that not have helped us a whole lot more than having to forgive one another? But God did not stop at just forgiving one another, He gave us His method Read the rest of this entry

Clear And Simple

“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Prov.29:18  [KJV]

The principle of The Objective states thus: “Direct all efforts towards a clearly defined, decisive & attainable objective. Three key things jump out immediately from this definition. Direct all efforts towards a Clearly Defined, Decisive and Attainable objective.

#3. Clearly Defined: Make the objective clear and simple. In Joshua 6:3-5, God was clear, “March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the Ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, every one straight in” [NIV]. Clearly defined! Strive for clarity. When I heard the Read the rest of this entry

Focus!

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” Josh.1:8 [NIV, emphasis added].

The principle of The Objective states thus: “Direct all efforts towards a clearly defined, decisive & attainable objective. Three key things jump out immediately from this definition. Direct all efforts towards a Clearly Defined, Decisive and Attainable objective.

#2. Decisive: In the words of Major General Karl Von Clausewitz, “Pursue one great decisive aim with force and Read the rest of this entry

Righteousness, Peace, & Joy!

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” Rom.14:17

Watch out for Anger, Hope Deferred, Greed, and Anxiety because they can put you out of tune.

#5. Life. The fifth thing that detunes us is actually life. We get out of tune by reason of use. Life just happens. You set your course at the beginning of the year but as days go by, life happens. A lot of people have New Year resolutions. In fact, some have Read the rest of this entry

Surrender Control

“They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth” Phil.3:19.

What appetite do you need to surrender to Jesus? You and I must deal with this question in order to make our lives count. I personally am very sensitive to anything that can compete with God or put me out of sync with Him. Permit me to start my next illustration with a disclaimer. There is nothing wrong with cable Read the rest of this entry

Give Control Back to God!

“They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth” Phil.3:19.

The third source of distraction is Another god also known as Pleasure. Many of us will not go and bow down to an idol or worship a graven image in our homes. Yet many of us are worshiping the idle of pleasure, the idol of self, and the idol of our unbridled appetite. You need to understand that whether it is a physical image or Read the rest of this entry

Distraction

“…Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing… There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her” Luke 10:39-40 & 42.

If you cannot make your life count then you have succeed in wasting your life but your life will not be wasted in Jesus Name. One subject that is noteworthy in making your life count is distraction. Distraction is a very powerful tool. Parents know the power of distraction. In fact, a lot of children are controlled with Read the rest of this entry
