Your Responsibility
‘The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged’ Ps.69:32
I feel a need to stress this point again because a lot of people have abandoned their destinies for greener pasture. Yes, the grass sometimes appears greener on the other side. When you stand at a distance, the grass can look greener on the other side. But the reality is that when you get closer to that grass you will find that it is not greener. The grass is only greener where it is watered. So water Read the rest of this entry
Consistently Choose
‘Three things will last forever – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love’ 1 Cor.13:13
Love and sex are marathons. They are not sprints -they are marathons. Some people have a level they want to get to in their sexuality with their spouse and they want to achieve it on day one. That is not the way to go about it because you will hurt yourself and you will hurt your relationship. Sometimes, some things take time. You grow in loving your wife. As a man I had to learn, and you Read the rest of this entry
Start By Inviting God
‘And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words’ Rom.8:26.
Sex within marriage is an act of worship. We glorify God when we use the gift He has given us in the way He intended. If you can pray and you pray for your brother and he is healed. That is an act of worship. If you can sweep and you sweep well, it is an act of worship. Our service and our utilization of our gifts in the way that God has intended it is an act of worship. It also means that the abuse of the gift is an affront to God. The Read the rest of this entry
For Your Good II
‘But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband’ 1 Cor.7:2[NIV]
Songs of Solomon is a very graphic book when it comes to sexual relationships between a man and a woman. You cannot be holier than God. God says something is holy then it is holy. God says sex in marriage is honorable and the bed is undefiled. Then it is honorable. So why do you feel guilty anytime you make love with your spouse? Something is wrong somewhere. There was a lady that we had to do some form of deliverance for because every time she is with her Read the rest of this entry
For Your Good I
‘They even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do’ 2 Cor.8:5
Prioritizing God is the best thing you can do for yourself whether you are married or single. Make God your desire and then let Him be the one to fulfill your desires. Are you single and sexually active, I have a question for you. Can you let sex go in pursuit of Christ Jesus? Can you do that for your sake, for the sake of your future spouse, and your destiny? Is that too much to ask you to do? Definitely not! Like some said, “Even in those moments when God is all that you have, Read the rest of this entry
Physical, Spiritual, and Emotional Oneness
‘The marriage bed must be a place of mutuality –the husband seeking to satisfy his wife, the wife seeking to satisfy her husband’ 1 Cor.7:3 [MSG]
Sex is a physical, spiritual, and emotional oneness. Sex transcends the physical. Meaning, sex is not just physical. When you have sex with someone, you are not just physically vulnerable to the person; you also carry every disease the person has. Therefore, you are also spiritually and emotionally vulnerable. So if the person is carrying a baggage of curses, when you have sex with him/her what happens is you get it too. When the person is carrying legions of demons when Read the rest of this entry
Leave Eros Alone II
‘Oh, let me warn you, sisters in Jerusalem, by the gazelles, yes, by all the wild deer: Don’t excite love, don’t stir it up, until the time is ripe—and you’re ready’ Sng.3:5.
Love is as strong as death. Love intoxicates and anything that intoxicates seeks to control. Love makes you do weird and crazy things so if you awaken it before time you would be in serious trouble. Is it love to wash the undergarments of a woman? If she is your wife yes, there is nothing wrong with it. Sadly, some of us cannot love our wives that freely and that is not right. I can proudly say that I have washed the undergarments of only one woman and she is my wife. I am not Read the rest of this entry
Leave Eros Alone I
‘Promise me, O women of Jerusalem, not to awaken love until the time is right’ Sng.8:4.
If you are single, leave Eros alone until marriage. ‘I plead with you, I beseech you o women of Jerusalem not to awaken love until the time is right’ [Please also read Songs of Solomon 2:7, 3:5, 8:4]. And this is so important for those of us that are single. Don’t awaken this thing called Eros until the time is right. You will mess up too many things in your life. Let the sleeping dog lie. Don’t awaken it until the time is right. Why such a strong plea not to awaken love ahead of Read the rest of this entry
In Marriage
‘The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs. The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife’ 1 Cor.7:3-4
For you to have a fulfilled marriage you must experience Philia, Agape, and Eros. If you are married and all you have been experiencing is Philia and Agape then you cannot have a fulfilled married life really. Singles are even better positioned because they don’t need to be worried about Eros. One mistake a lot of married people make is compartmentalizing sex and viewing it as separate from love. In marriage, sex is love. I hope this doesn’t sound Read the rest of this entry
You Decide
‘Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond…’ Rom.12:2 [MSG]
When it comes to every area of our lives, everyone must decide what will be the authority. You have to decide what will dictate the things you do and how you do the things you do. You could either accept the culture as the authority in your life or you could accept the Word of God as the authority in your life. If you are a believer in Christ Jesus then you should accept the Word of God as the authority in your life. Regardless of what the culture is saying or doing, the Word Read the rest of this entry
