Pleasing God!

‘But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him’ Heb.11:6 [NKJV].

Look! He has placed the land in front of you. Go and occupy it as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has promised you. Don’t be afraid! Don’t be discouraged!Deut.1:21. God knows that if you look at the land or you assess what is required to possess the land through your own eyes, two things can happen. You could either be afraid or you could be discouraged. Yet God is saying ‘don’t be afraid!’ You need to say this to yourself everyday especially in the season of sacrifice!

Sacrificial Seed

Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions’ Mark 12:42-43.

The third thing you have to do to prepare for a miracle is give God your sacrificial seed. The owners of the donkey could have said ‘who is the Lord that I should obey Him’. The widow of Zarephath could have asked the same question after all it was her own food. ‘Who is the Lord, is He the one that provided it? If He is God why did He have to make us suffer?’ And the little boy could in his childish attitude say ‘who is Jesus that I should give him my lunch box?’

Jesus Needs Your Lunch!

Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread to the disciples so they could distribute it… He also divided the fish for everyone to share’ Mark 6:41

Where is this boy?’ This is the first thought that runs through her mind as she glances out the window at the setting sun. And then as though to answer her question, she sees her little boy skipping playfully up the road. ‘Yet who are these men carrying baskets behind him and where is his lunch box?’ So she washes the soap off her hands and heads out the door to get answers to the questions on her mind. The little boy comes running toward his mother as usual but even he cannot help noticing that her hug is not as long and snugly Read the rest of this entry

God Has A Will

‘For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life’ John 3:16

A young lady was praying for a job and by God’s grace she was give two to choose from. One of course had much better perks than the other – better pay, courses outside the country and much more. So she sort God on which option was best because He alone knows the end from the beginning. And the leading she got was to take the less paying job. It was a struggle for her but she obeyed God and on the long term she is better of for it today 10years down the line. If she had taken the other job she probably would have gone off on another Read the rest of this entry

Submitted To God II

‘Since we respected our earthly fathers who disciplined us, shouldn’t we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live forever?’ Heb.12:9

If you find yourself in that situation where nobody can catch you and you still don’t do wrong because of your love for Jesus then you are really free. For a lot of people, the reason why they are not committing adultery today is because their spouse is on their case and so they do not have the opportunity. When the opportunity is right and nobody can catch them, such people will commit adultery. The Read the rest of this entry

Except By Him

‘Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me’ John 14:6

As Christians we are in constant danger of false assurances. ‘…When we display our righteous deeds,
they are nothing but filthy rags…’ Isa.64:6. God has helped you live a clean life without fornication, adultery, stealing, and killing – God helped you by the power of the Holy Spirit. When you begin to approach God based on your goodness, you are placing yourself under the curse of the law. For some people this is all that needs to be taken care of and they will enter their inheritance this year. Realize that in your strength and by Read the rest of this entry

Provoking Blessings

‘May many nations become your servants, and may they bow down to you. May you be the master over your brothers, and may your mother’s sons bow down to you. All who curse you will be cursed, and all who bless you will be blessed’ Gen.27:29

Let me tell you a story about a pastor friend. He was very anointed but he was broke. It is a terrible thing to be anointed and broke, it is a frustrating thing. A lot of us think prayer alone attracts wealth. You can pray from now till tomorrow, if you don’t sow a seed you can’t reap a harvest. So the guy was very anointed but he was hungry. One day a lady offers to take him to lunch and his soul was satisfied. He said to me that prophecy began to flow from him for the lady, specific words of prophecy. I can’t judge him but when I heard this I Read the rest of this entry

Praise

‘So David and all the people of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouts of joy and the blowing of rams’ horns’ 2 Sam.6:15

I can testify to the miracles and the awesome things that happen when we praise God. At a particular worship experience, as we were praising God, shackles began to break. However, these are just byproducts. The real reason why we praise God is because we are grateful to Him. Why would David – a king, dance like a fool? There are a couple of reasons. Positionaly somebody must play the fool before the king in a procession, David said to himself ‘who is best suited than me to be the fool before the ark. Who is more qualified Read the rest of this entry

Honor The King

‘And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment’ 2 Sam.6:14.

When David heard about how God was blessing the house of Obed-edom, David went there and took the ark to the city of David. When you see that you have made a mistake be quick to change. David did not allow pride limit him, instead he put pride aside and requested for the ark. I suspect that Obed-edom’s blessing was not just any kind of blessing. For God to bless you and a king would be jealous of you; just imagine how blessed the man was. While transporting the ark, David was so afraid that every six steps he would stop the Read the rest of this entry

He Sees, He Knows, & He Rewards

‘But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded’ 2 Chr.15:7

After the ark returned to the Jews, about seventy men decided they wanted to see what was inside it. So they opened it and God killed all seventy of them. So the ark was relegated through the time of Samuel and Saul until David’s time. True to how God described him ‘a man after My heart’. David said ‘how can the ark of God be relegated’. So he decided to bring the ark of God to the city of David. So they put the ark on a cart. Meanwhile the place they relegated the ark to was the house of Abinadab, the father of Uzzah. While the ark was Read the rest of this entry
