The “Tent”

Genesis 12:8 “And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.” (NKJV)

 

The family tent was the centre of community life. Everything flows from it. God is saying your tent is the centre of your life, everything flows from it. Enlargement cannot happen if you abandon your current influence. Read the rest of this entry

Add, Not Subtract

Isaiah 54:“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.” (NIV, emphasis added)

If there is something that we must learn, something that should have stood out to us about Caleb from our lessons so far, it is the fact that no matter what we are believing God for, we need to have a long-term view of waiting on God to fulfil His promises.
