Implications
Acts 15:16 “After these things I will return, And I will rebuild the tent of David which has fallen; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will restore it.” (AMP).
It is interesting to note that these places of worship were built by men, but they were houses of God. And in naming them God did not say this is the Temple of Jehovah, or the Tabernacle of Yahweh. Read the rest of this entry
Add, Not Subtract
Isaiah 54:2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.” (NIV, emphasis added)
When God says, enlarge the place of your tent, there are implications of the concept of the “tent” and the enlargement thereof. Over the next few days, we will look at five of such implications of “tent” and the enlargement thereof. Read the rest of this entry
Safe Place
Psalm 46:1-3 “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!” (emphasis added).
The presence of God is a formidable source of strength. The Voice Translation puts Psalm 46:1-3 this way, “God is our shelter and our strength. When troubles seem near, God is nearer, and He’s ready to help.
The Benefit
Isaiah 40:29-31 “He gives power to the tired and worn out, and strength to the weak. Even the youths shall be exhausted, and the young men will all give up. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles… (LB).
Picture yourself in an expensive restaurant with a waiter waiting on you. The waiter may be out of sight, but he is constantly watching you. When you look up, or raise your hand, the waiter shows up immediately. Read the rest of this entry
Draw Strength
Matthew 12:47&50 “Someone told Jesus, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to speak to you.” … Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”
The second source of strength is Friendships. Ecclesiastes 4:9&12 “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed… A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” Read the rest of this entry
Health Before Strength
Jeremiah 17:8 “They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
I am sure that by now you are saying, Pastor, I need to increase my strength. What are the sources of strength? We will look at seven sources of strength. Read the rest of this entry
Use It
Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” (KJV)
Life is a cycle of adversities. So rather than wanting to escape adversity, build strength. God wants you to pay attention to building strength even in the remaining days of this year and beyond. Take the COVID-19 pandemic for instance. Read the rest of this entry
Strength & Peace
Psalm 29:11 “The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.”
A lot of people think they are humble, and some even claim they are humble. But I say to folks, you cannot say you are humble until you have the resources to be proud, and you refuse to be proud. Read the rest of this entry
Build Strength
Proverbs 24:10 “If you fall apart during a crisis, then you weren’t very strong to begin with.” (The Voice, emphasis added).
If, makes it a conditional statement. You do not have to fall apart during crisis. But if you do, then you were not very strong to begin with. If you faint in the day of adversity, it means your strength is small. Read the rest of this entry
