Would You?
John 5:6-7 “When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?” “I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”
This man’s response never ceases to amaze me. The question was, “Would you like to get well?” What was his response, “I can’t, Sir.”? His response amazes me not because I am mocking the man. Read the rest of this entry
Anyone
John 5:3-4 “Crowds of sick folks—lame, blind, or with paralyzed limbs—lay on the platforms (waiting for a certain movement of the water, for an angel of the Lord came from time to time and disturbed the water, and the first person to step down into it afterwards was healed)” (LB)
Imagine if the only condition was the pool getting full. Anyone who is able to get in before the pool is full will be healed of whatever disease they have. Then the pool is emptied of healed people, and those who could not get in have to wait for the next stirring of the water. Read the rest of this entry
Old vs New
Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing will be impossible.” (NKJV)
John 5:4 “For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.” (NKJV, emphasis added). Grace again! Read the rest of this entry
Stirring
Psalm 34:7 “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.” (NIV).
The supernatural is with us. God has never left us. There are angels around us. There are angels even wherever you are right now, and they are carrying out God’s instructions. Psalm 103:20 “Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands.” Read the rest of this entry
The Move
Acts 13:36 “For David, after he had served God’s will and purpose and counsel in his own generation, fell asleep [in death] and was buried among his forefathers…” (AMPC)
You have come to the place of flowing mercy, and you will receive mercy in the Name of Jesus. You have come to the place of flowing grace, and you will receive grace in the Name of Jesus. Grace everywhere! There will be no scarcity of grace in your life. Read the rest of this entry
Bethesda
John 5:1 “Afterward Jesus returned to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish holy days.”
Back up and look at the person of Jesus. Jesus is God. Jesus is Anointed. Jesus knows everything. He was the Christ, the Messiah. But Jesus will still return to Jerusalem for a Jewish holiday. Read the rest of this entry
Undeserved Grace
Acts 15:11 “We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus.”
I am trusting God that in your life, everywhere you look, when you turn to the left and to the right, when you look ahead and behind, there will be grace everywhere. Read the rest of this entry
Hear. Accept. Produce.
Mark 4:20 “And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” (emphasis added).
To engage with the Word that you hear, you need to make it Personal. Next, you need to be Practical. You cannot just say I want to be like Jesus. Read the rest of this entry
Growth Triggers
Matthew 6:33-34 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (NKJV)
Yesterday, I was telling you that after reading Mark 4:18-19, I said to the Lord, “Is there something wrong with wanting to have nice things?” In answering the question, God said to me, “Look at Me and how I designed the world. Read the rest of this entry
Distractions
Mark 4:18-19 “The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.” (emphasis added).
The first distraction that jumps at us from the anchor scripture is worry—the worries of this life. The antidote to worry is prayer. Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything….” Read the rest of this entry
