Fulfillment
‘For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous’ 1John3:11-12 [NKJV].
The greatest fulfillment you will have in life will come from your relationships with people. That is, the people that God has put in your life. The greatest fulfillment you will have will not be from things. It will not be from the car you are driving, or the house you are living in, or the phone that you have, or the amount of money in your bank account. The greatest fulfillment you will ever experience will come from the relationships that God has put in your life. Relationships like our marriage relationship, relationships with our children, life Read the rest of this entry
Salvation And Discipleship
‘Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples’ John 13:35.
Walking in love is proof of your salvation and proof that you are a disciple of Christ Jesus. Love is also the stamp that confirms that you are genuinely born again. ‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love…’ Gal.5:22. Love is the first fruit of the regenerate spirit. What a regenerate spirit simply means is your spirit was dead when you were in the world’s sinful way, but when you gave your life to Christ, God renewed that spirit. You become dead to the previous sinful nature and born anew. God is love, so the new spirit He gives you has love engraved Read the rest of this entry
Redundant Faith
‘A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power’ Eph.6:10
Are you one of those people who did great works for God in the past but now you are redundant in faith? You could trust God to take you through university and help you graduate but now you cannot trust Him to provide you with a job. Or perhaps you had faith and God healed you of a terminal illness, but now you can’t trust God to heal you of a headache. Then you have allowed your faith to become redundant. The Bible says that it is impossible to please God without faith. Therefore, allowing your faith move into redundancy Read the rest of this entry
Profitable Walk
‘Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come’ 1 Tim.4:8
Is it not interesting that God prescribes exercising in His Word? Working out in a gym, at home, or engaging in any kind of physical exercise is a great thing to do and I strongly recommend it. I like to play football to keep myself fit. However, even though physical training is good, our physical bodies are restricted to this side of eternity irrespective of how fit they may be. This body is a temporary tent for our life here on earth. Yet God recommends training for godliness as much better because it promises benefits in this life and in Read the rest of this entry
Agape Love
‘Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged’ 1 Cor.13:4-5.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right’ 2 Tim.3:16. How is your love walk? Agape is God’s Love. Embodied in Jesus is the perfect example of God’s love. This is the strongest kind of love and is the pillar on which every other kind of love should lean on. In other words, every other kind of love finds it’s existence and essence in the agape love. Agape love is the love that lasts forever. ‘And I am Read the rest of this entry
Eros Love
‘For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh’ Eph. 5:31.
Eros love from which the word erotic derives it’s origin is love between a husband and his wife. It is sexual love designed by God for the institution of marriage. The world has tried to pollute and corrupt this kind of love by promoting it as cheap emotions responded to only on instinct. The truth is that God designed it as a fulfilling kind of intimacy reserved solely for married couples. If you are currently sleeping with someone who is not your husband or someone who is another person’s husband, what you are doing is not the eros kind Read the rest of this entry
Phileo love
‘A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another’ John 13:34-35
The word love has been broadly used and because of this many people don’t have a clear understanding of what love is truly about. There are many aberrations of love which people have come up with to suit their circumstances and for their convenience. The Bible recognizes three kinds of love – Agape, Eros, and Phileo. Phileo is the brotherly love we share and have for one another. This kind of love can fade with the challenges of life. Esau did not start out hating Jacob. He must have loved him as a brother would. But when Jacob stole his Read the rest of this entry
Prioritize Hunger!
‘Is any one thirsty? Come and drink-even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk-it’s all free!’ Isa.55:1.
Come and drink-even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk-it’s all free! Who is to come? You are! Yet the challenge with a lot of us, the reason why we don’t get this hunger fed and our thirst filled is because we do not understand the priority of hunger. My grand mother would say, ‘if hunger enters a man, nothing else can enter the man’. So hunger must be attended to. Jesus says, ‘seek first the kingdom of God and his Read the rest of this entry
Currency For Satisfaction
‘This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and from Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your Face, [O God of] Jacob’ Ps.24:6 [AMP].
The third way we can become hungry and thirsty for God is by fasting. ‘And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened’ Luke 11:9-10. When you stay in the place of seeking God, suddenly you will realize that all that truly Read the rest of this entry
God’s Dealings
‘Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna… He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord’ Deut.8:3.
The second way we get hungry and thirsty for God is through God’s dealings. God deals with us to create a hunger in us for Him and through that hunger we can know Him. ‘He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord’. God sometimes takes us through difficult periods for us to realize our hunger for what He has to say. Yet some of us are not sensitive enough and Read the rest of this entry
