Transition I

‘There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth’ Ecc.3:1 [MSG].

The dictionary defines transition as a passage; a change from one position, one state, a stage or a concept to another. Transition is like a channel that leads you from ‘point A’ to ‘point B’. In Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, the Bible talks about seasons and that everything is not in a fixed state. God made different seasons. There Read the rest of this entry

The Covering

‘Jael went out to meet Sisera and said to him, “Come into my tent, sir. Come in. Don’t be afraid.” So he went into her tent, and she covered him with a blanket. “Please give me some water,” he said. “I’m thirsty.” So she gave him some milk from a leather bag and covered him again’ Judges 4:18-19.

The cover you have in life is fundamental to your direction and ultimately fulfilling your destiny. One of the best things that can happen to anyone is to be surrounded with the right covering. A godly spouse, godly parents, and godly counsel. Particularly for men, who they partner with is crucial to their success Read the rest of this entry

God’s Willingness

‘Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached Jesus. He knelt before Him, worshiping. Lord, the man said, if you want to, you can make me well again. Jesus touched him. I want to, He said. Be healed! And instantly the leprosy disappeared’ Matt 8:2.

One day, after a sermon based on 2 Peter 3:8, a little boy got home and prayed: “Dear Lord, our Sunday school teacher taught us that a day with you is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day. Is that true?” God answers “Yes son”. The child continues: “Umm, can I then conclude Lord that a dollar Read the rest of this entry

In Christ

‘This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!’ 2 Cor.5:17

The truth about life is that the things that we have been through try to determine the things that are set before us. But God does not want our past to determine our future. Your past should not determine your future. No matter how bad your past was God does not want that past to determine your future. Yet owing to the way we are wired and because of the way the world is, it is the Read the rest of this entry

Healthy Views

‘Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you’ Isa.43:4

God in His Words puts before us a multitude of people who had healthy views of themselves. Examples He wants us to follow in our own lives. People like Jabez; Esther; Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego; and David. Jesus also lived out the perfect example of a healthy view of self which is why He urges us to ‘take His yoke and learn of Him’. The most important view is Read the rest of this entry

Unhealthy Views

‘…be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble’ 1Pet.5:5b

Scripture gives us countless examples of people who had unhealthy views of themselves; examples not to follow. Lucifer was beautiful, adorned with precious stones but iniquity was found in him. He wanted to be like God [Ezek.28:13-15, &17]. Sometimes, thinking that you are too much can be very risky. Ten out of the twelve spies had an unhealthy view of self ‘we are Read the rest of this entry

Your View vs God’s View

‘…Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us’ Rom.12:3b

‘…Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us’ Rom.12:3b. What are you saying about yourself? What is your honest evaluation about yourself? Some of us have the baggage of unrealistic self-view. We have unhealthy opinions about ourselves. Some people think they are better Read the rest of this entry

Men’s View vs God’s View II

And they said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen. But don’t let God speak directly to us, or we will die!’ Ex.20:19

Anyone who lives his life by the mandate of man really never lives in fulfillment. Living according to the opinion of man is operating outside the will of God. The opinion of man is always changing and that is why it is dangerous to base our lives on man’s fleeting views. In today’s scriptural reference, the people of

Proof Of Ownership

‘So I bought the field at Anathoth, paying Hanamel seventeen pieces of silver for it. I signed and sealed the deed of purchase before witnesses, weighed out the silver, and paid him’ Jer.32:9-10

The Word of God came to Jeremiah to buy a certain land from his cousin. Jeremiah did not handle this task shabbily. He was diligent about the task being careful to treat every detail with importance. Did God not notice Jeremiah’s limitations since he was in prison? Yes He did. However, Jeremiah on the other Read the rest of this entry

Flush Every Excuse

But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I now have a wife, so I can’t come’ Luke 14:18&20

An excuse is the greatest barrier to opportunity. You cannot be free from what you keep making  excuses for. Every time you come up with an excuse for an unhealthy relationship, you stay yoked in that relationship. Regardless of how great the opportunity God is bringing your way may be you can shut it down with Read the rest of this entry
