To Be Filled With The Life Of Christ – Part 2
‘The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone’ John 1:4.
Secondly, to be filled with the life of Christ means to be filled with the Living Word of God. The Word of God is God Himself. John 1:1-5, ‘In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through Him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it’. When you chronicle this portion of scripture by the help of the Holy Spirit, you will get revelational knowledge of the Power that the Word carries. This same power is available to every Christian who is filled with the Living Word. You can only get filled with the Word by spending dedicated study time daily with the Word. However it does not just stop at studying, you must also begin to meditate on the Word and let it become your actions. Let it renew your thinking until your natural response to situations is in line with the Word of Life. There is no word of God without life and power. To be filled with the Living Word of God is to move around with raw power. You cannot live the life that God has promised you unless you are filled with the Living Word. Isaiah 40: 8 ‘The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the Word of our God stands forever.’ What is holding you back from experiencing the power in the Word? Every Word in the bible was birthed by the Spirit of God, ask Him and He will give you understanding.
Prayer: Father, I ask to be filled with Your Living Word so that I will become the full image of Christ Jesus in my immediate environment. Thank You Father.
To be filled with the Life of Christ – Part 1
Then He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. John20:22
Firstly, to be filled with the life of Christ means to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is intoxicating and when you are truly filled, He owns your soul. John 16:13-15 ‘But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, He will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won’t draw attention to Himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said. He will honor Me; He Read the rest of this entry
Are You Desperate?
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised) Heb.10:23 (KJV)
Are you at the point where you have been waiting on God for a promise that will change the course of your life? A turn around that will be as David described it in Psalm 126.However, the wait period is starting to feel endless and you are wondering if God still has you on His radar. Cornerstones of Prayer
Never stop praying. 1 Thes.5:17 [NLT]
Prayer is talking to God the Father, in the name of God the Son and by the power of God the Holy Spirit. To attain excellence in prayer whether as an intercessor or a child of God, you must be competent, sacrificial and devoted.
Competence: In Matthew 6, Jesus outlines what you should do and not do Read the rest of this entry
Following Jesus
‘Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing… I have loved you even as My Father has loved Me. Remain in My love. When you obey My commandments, you remain in My love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in His love’. John 15:5,9 &10
There is a huge difference between going to Church and following Jesus. The fact that we are visible in Church and regularly attend meetings does not mean we are following Jesus. Serving in Church also is no guarantee we are following Jesus. Following Jesus means ‘remaining’ in Him; a choice to remain. Read the rest of this entry
How will you respond to Jesus?
‘Look I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends’. Rev.3:20 [NLT]
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. His promises are guaranteed. However, our response determines our feedback. In the above scripture for example, the Lord guarantees that He will stand at the door and knock and He will share a meal with you as a friend. But in between the first and the last Read the rest of this entry
Hungry?
‘Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness’. 1Peter 2:2-3 [NLT]
The key to a deeper relationship with God, better understanding of the Word, accelerated spiritual growth, a full experience of salvation and eternal glory is Hunger. Hunger is a very strong emotion capable of disconnecting the mind from everything and refocusing it on what the body interprets to be food at Read the rest of this entry
Familiarity with God
Peter exclaimed, ‘Lord, it’s wonderful for us to be here! If You want, I’ll make three shelters as memorials – one for You, one for Moses and one for Elijah’. Matt.17:4
Familiarity they say breeds contempt. Never, ever, ever get too familiar with God or with His Word. All that you have and will ever have are gifts from God alone [John 3:17]. God is our Father, He calls us friend, nothing can separate us from His love, and He wants to talk to us. However, He is the Lord of the angel Read the rest of this entry
