You Need To Know V
‘Truly, O God of Israel, our Savior, You work in mysterious ways’ Isa.45:15
‘This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed’ Hab.2:3. Today’s devotional is a continuation of yesterday’s discourse. You need to know that God will commit to ‘what’ but He will not always commit to ‘how’. Joseph knew the ‘what’ – he was going to be above his brothers. He knew this for a fact because God showed him ‘what’ was to come. Joseph Read the rest of this entry
You Need To Know IV
‘Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour’ Isa.45:15 [KJV]
You need to know that God commits to ‘what’ but doesn’t always commit to ‘how’. God, most of the time, will commit to ‘what’ He will do. He will commit to His promises for you. He will commit to the big picture that He has for you. He will make personal promises to you, perhaps in the area of fruitfulness, finances, promotions or establishment. God commits to ‘what’ but God never commits to ‘how’. The ‘how’ He will do it stays with Him. I have a feeling that God does not Read the rest of this entry
You Need To Know III
‘And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability’ Acts 2:4
You need to know that God does the illogical. God does things that don’t make sense. As you begin to experience God unboxed, expect the illogical. The gift of tongues does not make any sense to the person speaking it. But you see, that is God for you. For a lot of people, what is limiting their realization of God and their next level is logic. We are waiting for everything to Read the rest of this entry
You Need To Know II
‘Suddenly, there was a sound from Heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting’ Acts 2:2
God does not only bless the people that we do not agree with or bless us in spite of those that do not agree with us, God does the unexpected. God shows up suddenly; He likes to surprise people. I have not met a woman that does not like to be surprised by her husband. God loves to show up when we least expect Him. For many of us, if we think back 10 or 20 years, we will never have Read the rest of this entry
You Need To Know I
‘They were completely amazed. “How can this be?” they exclaimed. “These people are all from Galilee’ Acts.2:7
God also blesses those that don’t agree with us. The fact that God is doing awesome things in your life, and you do not agree with your brother does not mean God will stop doing great things in his life. God will bless the people you disagree with inspite of the fact that you disagree with them. You may be one of those who think that this is totally unfair. Some people think that Read the rest of this entry
Manifest Presence
‘And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages… But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, “They’re just drunk, that’s all!” Acts2:4 & 13
You have to live your life void of fear of people ridiculing you or calling you names. And plug into the purposes of God. The disciples were wise enough to separate themselves as Jesus instructed and wait for the promise. When they received the promise, some people’s reaction was to ridicule them. Ignore the jesters. The Holy Spirit is the power of God. He is God Himself. He is the Read the rest of this entry
Close Enough
‘Then He said to the crowd, if any of you want to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me’ Luke 9:23
‘Salvation costs you nothing but discipleship will cost you everything’ Mark Driscoll. Walking in the reality of our faith involves making Jesus Lord of all. Jesus is either Lord of all or He is not Lord at all. Salvation costs you nothing but to follow Jesus will cost you everything. When you are obedient it affects generations unborn. God cannot be your assistant driver. In Churches today, Read the rest of this entry
Fearless
‘Make the LORD of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble’ Isa.8:13
People say that the phrase ‘Fear Not’ appears 365 times in the Bible. That is one for every day. Imagine your life fearless; imagine the things you could achieve if you are fearless. Picture your life when there is no one you cannot face and with no situation you cannot confront. Imagine what God can do with you, if you are fearless. That which you have imagined if you were fearless, Read the rest of this entry
Season Of Response I
‘…We realize that we have sinned, but now we are ready to enter the land …It won’t work. Do not go… You will only be crushed …because the LORD is not with you’ Num.14:40-42
With God, there is season of response for every instruction He gives you. One of the dangers of being afraid is that fear can cause you to miss the timing of God. The fact that God has said you should do something does not mean that door will remain open for ever. If you miss the season of response, you may go back to attempt the assignment and fail. In the scripture reference above, Read the rest of this entry
Safety
‘Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me’ Ps.23:4
‘Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me’. Safety is not the absence of danger. Safety is in the presence of God. People are very quick to think that safety is the absence of danger. And if they were to rewrite Psalm 23:4, it would look something like this – ‘I will fear no evil if I walk through a path that is without the shadow of Read the rest of this entry
