Walking with God
I will set My dwelling in and among you, and My soul shall not despise or reject or separate itself from you. And I will walk in and with and among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people. Lev. 26:11-12[AMP]
God wants to have a relationship with you. Through Jesus, He established a more personal relationship with us were we can talk to Him personally and not through a priest. Walking with God demands two things; first is Agreeing with God, the second thing is Pleasing God.
- Agreement: Walking with God requires agreement [Amos3:3]. Ask Read the rest of this entry
Sole Authority
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2Timothy.3:16-17
You cannot live your life based solely on what people say except you are taking God out of your life’s equation. What if, what they are saying is contrary to what God is saying concerning your direction at that time? While the Word of God advices that it is wisdom to surround yourself with godly counsel; the source of this advice is the Word. It is even more wisdom to make God’s Word Read the rest of this entry
Satisfaction
The Lord, will comfort Israel again and have pity on her ruins. Her desert will blossom like Eden, her barren wilderness like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found there. Songs of thanksgiving will fill the air. Isa.51:3 [NLT]
The truth is that, the only person you are capable of totally pleasing is God. The converse is also true; the only person who can totally please you is God. If you think that when you get married you would be able to please your spouse completely, nothing can be further than that from the truth. You cannot totally please your spouse and your spouse cannot totally please you. Stop looking for Read the rest of this entry
Gift vs. Giver
Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you. Gen.22:2
Never become overly attached to the gifts and lose sight of the Giver. The building is not worth more than the builder. The builder can wake up any day and build new and more beautiful houses but the building has reached the peak of its potential and all it will ever be is a building. If you hold on to what God has given you and not hold on to the Giver of the gifts you would run into Read the rest of this entry
Spiritual Harmony
And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Genesis 5:24
The first thing that comes to mind when you see a picture of two people walking hand-in-hand is relationship or friendship. With God, this is the picture of spiritual harmony. Spiritual harmony is walking hand-in-hand with God. Gen5:23-24 [NLT] ‘Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him’. In actual fact, Read the rest of this entry
The key to Personal Harmony
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Isaiah.26:3[KJV]
You will keep in perfect peace ALL who trust in You, ALL whose thoughts are fixed on You! Isa.26:3 [NLT]. The only route to perfect peace is God. You cannot put your trust in the wealth of your hands [wealth which God has permitted] and expect perfect peace. Trust is a deeper level of faith; regardless of what you can see, you believe beyond any doubt that God has already come Read the rest of this entry
7th Root of Personal Disharmony: Doubt
[For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides] James1:8 [AMP]
Doubt is a major pointer to personal disharmony. Doubt basically occurs when there is no harmony between your spirit man and your intellectual man. Your heart says one things and your mind says something totally different. You are in service or listening to an audio message or perhaps even studying the Bible, and then your spirit man picks up on what God wants to do. Your spirit man Read the rest of this entry
6th Root of Personal Disharmony: Worry
‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God’ Phil.4:6 [NIV].
A large number of people have a PhD from the school of worrying, while others have made worry a favourite past time. Worrying has become a toy that they relax into on every occasion, during the day and at the end of the day. Philippians 4:6 is a command and not a suggestion from God. God does not want you to worry; a command not to be anxious for anything. God is saying do not worry about anything. So when you worry, you are disobeying God. Read the rest of this entry
5th Root of Personal Disharmony: Sin
People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. Prov.28:13
The 5th root cause of personal disharmony is Sin. God’s gifts of forgiveness and salvation are free for all but you have to accept His forgiveness and ask to be saved by Jesus. We are unable to attain righteousness on our own which is why we go to God in Christ Jesus. In Christ, we are able to access the promises of God because we have been reconnected through the ultimate sacrifice. God Read the rest of this entry
4th Root of Personal Disharmony: Stress
I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]. Phil.4:13 [AMP]
‘I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me’ Phil.4:13 [NLT]. Stress usually happens when the task ahead of us is perceived as being greater than what we are capable of doing. You have been assigned a task in the office because your boss is confident that you are most capable for the task. The only problem is that you do not quite see what your boss sees and you are freaking Read the rest of this entry
