Expressions
1 Kings 9:3 “And God said to him, “I’ve listened to and received all your prayers, your ever-so-passionate prayers.” (MSG).
We need to express our desires to God with emotions just like Daniel did. Daniel 9:3 “And I prayed earnestly to the Lord God, pleading with him…”. Daniel was pleading with God endlessly in prayer with passion. This is the same God that made this promise of deliverance. Read the rest of this entry
Passionate Plea
Daniel 9:2-3 “I found out from studying the writings of the prophets that the Lord had said to Jeremiah, “Jerusalem will lie in ruins for 70 years.” Then, to show my sorrow… I confessed my sins and earnestly prayed to the Lord my God” (CEV)
I have told you several stories of how I saw things that totally changed my life in the scriptures. and till today they still are that powerful. So, what did Daniel read in the book of Jeremiah? This is so beautiful. Contained in Jeremiah’s ‘bestselling book’ , Jeremiah 29:10-12 “This is what the Lord says: “You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen.” (emphasis added). 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (KJV)
Daniel’s prayer started with God speaking to Daniel and Daniel getting to understand through God’s Word. When you read Daniel 9, you see that Daniel’s prayer started with God. For instance, you may be trusting God to be excellent in your business. Read the rest of this entry
Duologue
Psalm 27:8 “My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”
Our third lesson from Daniel about praying in and through a crisis is, I Let God Speak to Me Before I Speak to Him. And this is huge. I pray through a crisis when I let God speak to me before I speak to Him. We often pray in a hurry. Calm down because everything originates from God, everything. Read the rest of this entry
On My Knees
Psalm 95:6-7 “So come, let us worship: bow before him, on your knees before God, who made us! Oh yes, he’s our God, and we’re the people he pastures, the flock he feeds.” (MSG)
Our final thought yesterday was focused on church history and how many of the early Christians were martyred and killed for being followers of Jesus. Many of them were crucified, but history has it that a lot of them, including Peter, when they were about to be crucified begged their prosecutors, Read the rest of this entry
No Matter What!
Psalm 50:23 “But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honours me. If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.”
If you are going to pray in a crisis, you have to learn to honour God, no matter how you feel. Choose to honour God, no matter what. I want you to make that decision today that you will honour God, no matter what. There is a man in scriptures called Job. Job was a rich man; in fact, he was the richest man. Honour God
Daniel 9:4&9 “…I said, “Lord God, you are great, and we honour you. You are faithful to your covenant and show constant love to those who love you and do what you command… You are merciful and forgiving…” (GNT, emphasis added).
You may be in God’s presence today thinking, ‘Is God really good? I know God is good sometimes but is God really good all the time?’ Take a moment, think about it. Is God really good all the time? The fact that you can think about it is evidence of God’s goodness. Read the rest of this entry
How To
Psalm 77:7-9 “Has the Lord rejected me forever? Will he never again be kind to me? Is his unfailing love gone forever? Have his promises permanently failed? Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he slammed the door on his compassion?”
The dictionary defines crisis as a time of intense difficulty or danger, a time when a difficult or important decision must be made. People experience crisis at different seasons in life. And sometimes, the entire world is plunged into a crisis like during the COVID 19 pandemic. Read the rest of this entry

Isaiah 60:5 “Your eyes will shine, and your heart will thrill with joy, for merchants from around the world will come to you. They will bring you the wealth of many lands.”
We learnt yesterday about positive phototropism and negative phototropism. With positive phototropism, the plants grow towards the light. But in negative phototropism, the plants grow away from the light into darkness. Read the rest of this entry
