His Word And His Voice

‘How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word’ Ps.119:9.

With God, sitting on the fence translates to being lukewarm. Some of us are unable to commit because we are afraid to make mistakes. Yet your commitment shows God and heaven that you mean business. I could trace the dramatic change in my life and the power of God to milestones in my commitment to purity.

The second practical tool for purity is the Word. ‘How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your wordPs.119:9. You may be young yet you are wondering how possible it is to stay pure in this generation, God says by obeying the Word. There is the spoken Word and the written Word. I remember when I first got saved each time I close my eyes to pray, I start seeing all sorts of filthy images because of my past. I had an issue with that; in fact I was convinced that I needed deliverance. So I went to meet my Pastor at the time and I narrated what is going through my mind while they pray. My grand mother says the person that keeps quiet, his own will keep quiet with him. So when I have a problem, I always shout out. He just smiled and told me how to read the Bible. I cannot remember if he even prayed with me or not. And I was there speechless, ‘is that all he will say?’ But I decided to obey – reading my Bible, listening to messages, and just flooding myself with the Word of God. I did not even know when the thoughts disappeared. The Word of God cleanses us. It does not only instruct us, it cleanses us but it requires obedience to that Word.

The third practical tool for purity is the voice of God. The voice and the Word go hand in hand really because the foundation for hearing the voice of God is the Word of God. But you cannot substitute the Word of God with the voice of God. Jesus said, ‘my sheep they hear my voice’. You have a great destiny in God, don’t mortgage it. Every sin is without the body but the sin of adultery and fornication, you are killing yourself. I am praying for you today that if you were ignorant of this and you have gone far, God will have mercy on you today in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

Thought: You have to be deliberate about flooding your heart with God’s written and spoken Word daily.

Prayer: Father, teach me to truly seek You daily, in Jesus Name
