What’s Your Practice?

“And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins” Matt.1:21.

Salvation is all encompassing. Jesus paid the price for the salvation of your soul, the healing of your body, deliverance from oppressive spirits and depression, and deliverance from poverty. Jesus died for deliverance from poverty? Yes He did, and you need to know that. However, even though salvation is all encompassing, the truth remains that the root cause of all the problems that salvation came to solve is sin. Sin is the root cause of the problems salvation came to solve. If Adam had not taken and eaten that apple, we will not be where we are today. We would be in God’s glory with God’s Presence covering us. The key thing here is the root cause was sin, which is why the Bible says, “…for he will save his people from their sins.” Matt.1:21. It means that if you and I take care of sin, a whole lot of these things would fall into place. So there is a problem with tenaciously claiming freedom from poverty and not seeking freedom from sin. We have people that go to church solely to seek financial breakthrough. They do not want a breakthrough from sin but they want a breakthrough from demonic oppression. People have turned Pastors into herbalists – they do not want you to get into their lives; all they want is for you to pray for the breakthrough. But that is not God. God wants you to have a breakthrough but more importantly, God is interested in your life. “And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him. Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is. Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.  So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil” 1John 3:5-10[emphasis added]. Anyone whether Pastor, Bishop, Evangelist, Apostle, or Prophet, it doesn’t matter what position you occupy or who you are, if you continue in sin, the Bible says you do not even know God. It is interesting how this runs contrary to the message of ‘erroneous grace’ that is being preached.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life [Ps.139:24], in Jesus Name.
