Hot Or Cold?

“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” Rev.3:15-16 [emphasis added]

The problem with a lot of believers is indifference. God’s Word is clear on the direction, God’s mind on every subject is clear but some believers are just indifferent. Jesus says,  You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.  So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see.  I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference Rev.3:17-19 [emphasis added].

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends” Rev.3:20. Jesus is not standing at your door because He wants to punish you or judge you. Rather, Jesus is waiting to fellowship with you and I. The power to open the door rests in your hands; it rests in my hands. But guess what? Jesus wants you to open the door so that you and Him can have fellowship; so that you can eat together, feast together, and drink together. The greatest treasure of a Christian is their relationship with Jesus. Every other thing can be taken from you. The world can strip you of everything you own physically. I am praying you will not lose anything that God has blessed you with, in Jesus Name. But everything on earth is temporal and you can lose anything. You can lose the car, you can lose the job, you can lose anything. This is why Jesus is saying that kind of treasure is wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. The only treasure that qualifies is that which Jesus is offering you and I today. The only thing you should not lose is your relationship with Jesus. Hold loosely to everything else and tightly to Jesus. I say to Pastors that are my friends, hold on to your relationship with Jesus because it is the only thing you have. Back then, I used to say, the church can be taken away from you but no one can take your relationship with Jesus. And it happened to me; but guess what? Your relationship with Jesus will create another church that is bigger and stronger and better, in Jesus name. Your relationship with Jesus is the only treasure you have. Martha urged Jesus to tell Mary to join her in the kitchen but Jesus said, that which Mary has chosen shall not be taken away from her.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I open my door to You and I give You full and sole access to everything so that You will be my all, my Lord, my friend, in Jesus Name.
