Covenant Carrier III

“…I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone… Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth! 2 Sam.7:8-9

Did God take permission from anyone before He elevated David and established his throne forever? God does not need anyone’s permission to bless you. Whether they like it or not, you are going be blessed. Some people will call you proud but it is okay because that is usually what happens when you are confident in the Covenant. When David went to the battlefield with relief for his brothers and asked, “who is this uncircumcised philistine?” His own brother said, “I know you are a proud boy; you have come to watch the battle.” David said, “me? I have come to kill this goliath” [translated]. Confidence in God sometimes can be misconstrued but it doesn’t matter, the end result will show. And for everyone that has called you proud, you are going to be paying his or her taxes because that is what David did. He paid his brothers taxes and took care of their families. You are going to be paying their tuition very soon. Jacob knew it was the Covenant with God and you need to understand that too. If I could drill that into you, I would. But I trust that this is what the Lord is doing because you need to get this down in your spirit. If you do not have a Covenant with God, you are starting it today because you are going to bloom, in Jesus Name.

The Covenant evokes one of the most powerful forces in our walk with God, which is ‘for My Name sake’. There is almost nothing as powerful as that in my experience with walking with God. “But for the sake of my name, I brought them out of Egypt. I did it to keep my name from being profaned in the eyes of the nations among whom they lived and in whose sight I had revealed myself to the IsraelitesEz.20:9[NIV]. “For My Name sake”, everyone that walks with God understands this. Daniel knew this and when he went to God, this was his strong case. “Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your NameDan.9:19[NIV]. “For my own name’s sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you, so as not to destroy you completely” Isa.47:9[NIV]. “For My Name sake” is the source of favor and the source of grace. When you check the root of favor it is for His Name sake. I know, like everyone that understands this that every favor I have experienced has been for His Name sake. In fact, it won’t be favor if it is because of my strength. If it is by my qualification then it is not favor. Every favor I have experienced is simply for His Name sake.

Prayer: Father, for Your Name sake, cause me to bloom in every area of my life, in Jesus Name.
